Good day, everyone. Forgive me for taking up some of your time.

[ .. it's hard to see who's speaking though. It seems that the person has set down their Omni in front of them, which means that the camera is just filming.. someone's knees as they're kneeling on the ground. ]

My name is Chizuru, Chizuru Yukimura. I have a few questions about this place. Of course I mean to repay anyone for sharing their advice and time with me. I.. um, I could cook something for you, or I could try to see if I could help you with a different favour.. [ The voice momentarily trails off, like the person is thinking, before she speaks on. ]

I-In any case. My first question has to do with the food here. I've already found a lot of different sorts of food I'm not used to, and I would really appreciate it if someone could help me with figuring out some of them, like.. what they taste like, or how they are supposed to be used in dishes..

Secondly.. I'm looking for the Shinsengumi. [ Something dips in the tone as that's being said, a hint of sadness sneaking in. ] I know that the chance they have found themselves here is very low, but if they are here, or if anyone has heard of them, I would like to know.

[ Maybe she could use some technological help too, given.. you know. The obviously unintended pants-view. There's even shadows moving around, like she's moving her hands off screen since she thinks the device is filming all of her. ]

Aside from that.. I would honestly appreciate any and all advice on living here. I have to admit I've found myself.. um.. feeling a little overwhelmed, I suppose you could say.. [ Now there's some fluster in the tone. ] For example..

[ She pauses.

It's a long, awkward pause, and her voice is a little softer when she speaks on. ]

This method of communication.. is not just meant to find people to, um-- to get.. involved with, is it? [ Someone saw Obi-Wan's post, apparently. ] In that case.. I-I'm sorry, but that wasn't my intention..!

Uh. Yeah. I'm sure there's plenty of people who would say that's my sides' fault. [Maybe even his fault, specifically. He did put out a broadcast that helped unite a lot of separately operating insurgent cells into the Alliance.]

And...I was a soldier. [And yes, he probably sounds rather young for that.]

Well.. I don't know much about the war back in your world, so I won't judge, I promise..

[ Even though there's a tad of awkwardness in Chizuru's tone as she speaks - but that has more to do with the topic in general than anything she's specifically saying right now, really. It's just true that she can't really make any judgements about what happened in his world when Chizuru knows so very little about it.

His age, on the other hand, doesn't stand out to her as much. It's not like they didn't have people his age within the Shinsengumi - some were even already captains. ]

But it must have been hard for you, fighting like that. [ She can at least acknowledge that. ]

...hard, yes. But some things are worth fighting for. [Even if regrets how narrow his focus and questionable his methods got, at points.]

So. Can I ask where you're from?

[ There's very little hesitation in her answer, as if Chizuru doesn't mind sharing this in the least - especially if it's to try and get his mind off more painful things for a moment. ]

I'm from.. Japan. Um, that's the name of the country, not the planet.. [ You know, since she apparently needs to think in space terms around some people here. ] I grew up in Edo, but I've been living in Kyoto for a few years now, since I went there to look for my father.

I know a little bit about the place. [He elects not to try to explain how, since it involves an entire life time of fake memories of being from Earth, creating by a reality altering spell. Memories that told him his mother's family was from Japan.]

You're the only one around from there. But I don't know what city Usagi-san is from.

...or year, for that matter.

That's alright! I guess it's not really common to talk about that sort of thing, huh..

[ After all, it's not like any of them are used to being in places where people come from different times and places like this - or at least, Chizuru isn't, so she imagines the same is true for a lot of people here.

Mostly people probably wouldn't even think about introducing themselves with that stuff. ]

Just judging by how everyone here looks, I really don't think there are many people from the same time and place here as where I come from.

I guess so. [ Her tone is a little awkward, but she still sounds like she's smiling - or trying to, anyway. ] I never really thought that that would be something to be glad for, but.. I guess this place is raising the standard in all sorts of odd ways.

[ Like no longer being able to take the fact that everyone around you is at least from the same planet for granted. ]
