Uh, hey. Mako here.
[ Nailing it so far, right? Mako's standing in front of a half-blue, half-green wall, dotted with small lunar sconces. Everything looks kind of dusty and half-finished, and the watery afternoon light illuminates yet more dust drifting around him.
Notably, a small dragon, red-scaled and content, is draped over his shoulders like a scarf, watching the Omni with bright eyes.
Mako glances momentarily off the screen, mouths something, and then looks back, clearing his throat. ]
It's come to my attention that a lot of you have been setting things on fire left and right since we washed up here. Obviously, this is dangerous to you and the people around you. If that's you, you need to make an effort to control it immediately before something worse than singeing your clothes happens.
For those of you who just washed up, I'm a firebender. That means I can do—
[ He holds up his left hand (scarred with strange marks) in front of himself and splays his fingers, making a small puff of fire appear and hold over his palm. It flickers there like a candle flame, dancing between Mako's fingers, before he drags it in a small arc and lets it go out. ]
—that, and—
[ Another flick of his fingers, this time producing little purple-bright sparks that zap between the tips and then dissipate. ]
—that. And a lot more.
So. If you need help learning to control your powers, and you do, come to the Raccoon Room in Cellar Door on Wednesdays. You'll see the sign. I've been doing this since I was a kid. Anyone else who wants to help, feel free to drop by too.
[ Finally, he looks up, his serious expression dropping just slightly. ]
Trust me. If a bunch of snotty six-year-olds back home can learn how to do it, you can.
[ The little dragon huffs in agreement, fire puffing out of its nose, and Mako reaches forward to cut the feed. ]

[She sounds surprisingly healthy given the circumstances.]
Kind of? Sort of? Not really?
I think my Aura has changed since I got here. It’s like a shield made from my soul- protects me from harm-
Except now it’s one fire- when it feels like it. And that does the like opposite of protecting!
[…She’s still on fire but it’s kind of dying down.]

His poker face remains unchanged. ]
Ruby. Is it hurting you when you're on fire like that? Can you feel it? If it's anything like your normal powers—just. Get over here on Wednesday. Or... maybe now.

No- It doesn't hurt at all actually. I like feel tingly when I do it but it kind of catches me by surprise when I do it. And the fact that I'm setting like anything I touch on fire when I do it doesn't help things either.
Yeah- Maybe I'll start to head over now.
Just keep an eye out for the big ball of fire.
That's probably me.

[ You know Mako, full of practical suggestions. He doesn't want to know what kind of hazard a walking fireball making her way through the streets of Trench would be but it can't be good, especially because there don't seem to be any corresponding waterbenders to put things out. ]
Just a suggestion. Unless you can't. Then you should get over here as quick as you can and I'll do it before you burn through all Oscar's blankets.

[And she closes her eyes and tries to focus on quelling the flames. It kind of works- Except the fire quickly shifts into a flash of light as it turns into a shock of lightning before leaving Ruby standing there, hair standing on end from the sudden shock.
Bolts of electricity continue to flash about her body.]
I think- I think Ive got it! I'm just not going to go near anything electronic now-
Great idea!

[ This is the face of a man who did not realize that lightning powers were also part of this. ]
Ruby. How often is that lightning thing happening?

Is the lightning worse? Is it a bad sign or something!?
It's not like stage four of super weird things going on is it!?
AM I GOING TO BE OKAY!?
