How many of you found a new found respect for squids after you got here or after you walked back into the ocean to get away for a while.
I didn't think of them much before but now I'm like well, they're not that bad. Might think twice before having Calimari.

It would have been, but I've been here too long. Some of the stories I hear from our worlds are worse even than most of what we've seen in this place or the nightmare.

That's how it is around here. We have to be willing to stick together to some extent no matter what if we're going to survive. Things aren't as bad as they were in the nightmare, but that's not saying much.

things are bad everywhere. there's enough bad to go around.

Indeed. But I do think, based on what I've seen of the Trenchies? It seems to be a situation that they've managed to figure out how to survive in the midst of it. It takes a lot of endurance, though.

Survival just about anywhere takes a lot of endurance.

How long have you been among the people here at Trench, if I may ask?

I was here before and in nightmare town, USA.
This time, not that long.

With any sort of back and forth it becomes hard to keep track, doesn't it? Especially since the seasons around here are odd, to say the least.

There are fewer and fewer of us who truly understand those trials. It's good for us to keep a certain amount of solidarity. Just to be there for each other at the very least.

I'm not great at being there for people but I get what you're saying.

That's fine. Not all of us are really magnificent at it honestly. This place tends to be a kind of harsh teacher.
