Sparing you all the sob story, but there's a few people who went missing and don't look like they're coming back.
Don't worry, I'm fine, this isn't going to be another breakdown post. I know we're all tired of me making those.
Anyone here any good with flower language? Looking for some help representing a few people.
Follow-up question, anyone here ever gotten a tattoo before?
Anything I should prep for if I'm getting, like, three at the same time?
Was gonna go with a buddy, but, well. See the first part of this post.
I was a little worried about pain, but I think I can probably take it. Just got a bit of a limited canvas.
Man, I don't even know if the ink's gonna take on my skin.
Could get stuff etched instead, I guess.
Anyway, yeah, thanks, Trench.
Hold tight to the ones you love. Never know when you won't get the chance again.

Ursula's Ink uses ink made from Sleeper blood. It should take to most skin types, so long as you don't mind the 'made from Sleeper blood' part.

Mostly I'm just worried because this is, like, fake skin?
Like, really GOOD fake skin, but I don't know if it's got all the, like...
Dermises.
Or whatever.

If Ursula's Ink can't do it, perhaps Peggy's Aid could. Plenty of their prosthetics have designs and other aesthetic flourishes.
Though I imagine etching it would produce a striking result.

One of them was abrasive, rough, closed off, but had a massive heart, the kind that couldn't even be held within his own chest. He cared so deeply about the people who mattered to him, but would sooner kick my ass than imply he did. He wanted to do what was right and didn't let things like regulations or rules stand in his way.
He was the first friend I made here when I didn't think there was going to be anyone else who understood me ever again.
The other was kind of like him, but he carried the weight of so much on his shoulders and hoped that he would be strong enough to bear it alone. Even though he knew he'd never have to. Even though he taught me that you don't have to carry it all. He was a bit of a square, very uptight, but I think I was starting to get his nut to crack by the time he left. Very interested in doing what was right while staying within the lines.
He and the other guy were in love with each other and I think they both knew it. And if I'm way, way too disgustingly honest, it gave me a little bit of hope that I could find something like what they had.
Sorry that got flowery, but I guess we are talking about flowers.

I can however go with you while you go and get your tattoo.
I've kind of been thinking of getting one myself.

Tell me more.
What were you thinking of getting? You got a reason for it?

Not that I've got any myself, but I know a thing or two about skin and bleeding. Although you mentioned etching, which begs the question of how well your skin heals in the first place, as invasive as that sounds.
But all that aside. Arms have fewer nerve endings, less pain. Are those involved in your limited canvas? I'd recommend them.
no subject
(That's cybernetic organisms, baby.)
That's kind of where I was thinking of getting them done anyway (tats or etchings), so I guess it's good that I'm on the same page as everyone else.
And don't worry about invasive questions. I've got a dude who opens me up and takes a look inside my actual-ass body on the reg. Invasiveness ain't on the table.
My skin probably heals about as well as any other Sleeper's does, if I had to guess.
Do I know how it actually works when my guts is robot parts? Absolutely not. But it does.

It should stick on your skin, or they'll figure out a way to make it stick anyway.
I hear it hurts like a bitch.
[... and now to the important part.]
Who's gone?
Private
Satoko Hojo too, probably, but I'm biding my time on that tricky little bitch.
I don't know how well you knew any of them, but Yuri and Flynn were some of my closest friends here.

But just as the other says that this isn't going to be about that, Ange is very careful to steer clear of that as well, focusing on the rest of what the other writes instead. As if Ange isn't still dealing with her own heaviness as well. ]
Three tattoos? That's going to be a lot of space. Or are you going to get small ones?

I wasn't thinking anything too big, no.
I'm still waffling. I was thinking about a vase with flowers in it that I can just add to when more people leave,
But then I'm at a loss with what to do for Rose.
I know I said I had plans for her already, but I was kind of hoping it would come to me between now and then.
But now I need an idea and I need to commit to it. Because she would hate being remembered with a flower.

If you check upthread I described the two people I'm trying to commemorate with Omni user karma.
If you've got any ideas of your own based on that, I'd love to hear what you have to say.
I wish I could say I'm not used to the loss by now, but thanks all the same.

They're buttercups, if you'd like some.

Never had a lot of luck with growing them, so it's easiest if I gather them up in a way where they won't die.
What drew you to buttercups?

I'm lousy at flower language, so I can't help you there, but if you need someone to go with you, I'm available.
Or if you need to punch something, I know I'd make a great sparring partner.
[For reasons he won't say but they both know. Sometimes aimless aggression was great for venting a bunch of shit you don't really want to talk about.]

I don't know how much rage I have inside me right now.
This really ain't my first time around the block, here or anywhere else I've been.
Sometimes people just leave and you don't have any say in it.
At least this time they're doing me the grace of leaving instead of just forgetting who I am.

If you check with Omni user karma upthread I talked about who I'm trying to memorialize.
Maybe you've got some ideas of your own.
Not always looking for an expert opinion or anything, you know? Just as many as I can get.

what're you thinking of?

One for each person I lose.
That way at least I have a bouquet when they're gone.
That sounds way darker than I wanted it to sound.
