...just because someone becomes a beast, it doesn't mean they stop being human.
[ The video comes on and it's an older, slender teenager with stark white hair; pale grey eyes and a strangely delicate bright red mark slashed across the left side of his face. He seems to be in a courtyard of sorts, one of Amaterasu's guardian saplings is behind him in full bloom. He's only visible from the chest up, but the chair he's sitting in has handles behind it-- looks like a wheelchair. Whatever is taking the video also appears to be a flying sort of thing that bobs slightly. It's trying to hold this video still, but really... ]
Most of you probably already know this. [ His head cants to the side with a lightly apologetic smile. ] Some of you might even be able to still hear or reach them despite that form.
But not everyone does, and it's still too easy to say "oh, it's safer and quicker to just kill them. You don't save monsters." [ The official creed of the Hunters... but he's diplomatic enough to not say that aloud. ] Or "oh, a Sleeper can just come back." Except it isn't just us. Someone else who isn't... most of them who were human... they aren't like us. [ He smiles softly, but in a way that doesn't reach his eyes. They hood, bittersweet. ]
They're just dead then. The soul suffers until the end. Maybe beyond.
It doesn't have to be like that though. [ He seems a soft-spoken sort with a lilted voice, but his tone shifts then and becomes more certain. ] They aren't just a monster, and they don't have to stay one. Even with what they've become -- the soul is still human. Some part of them still wants to be saved; to be themselves once again. And they can. [ Mostly. At least so far in his experience. ]
Some of us have abilities that can let us purify or reverse what corrupted them and bring them back. Some of us-- [ he pauses, looking for a moment just a touch overwhelmed as his eyes drift to the side, the smallest curl of a touched sort of smile at the corner of his mouth ] ... a number of us, we're trying to do something to change things. At one of the old monasteries in Crenshaw.
[ But he closes his eyes. Deep breath, you can do this.
He lifts his eyes back up to the "camera", his expression schooled now with a quiet sort of determination. Chin up, eyes forward. ]

I hope that when it's finally finished, I shall be able to give out a copy to each and every Sleeper, plus some more to go into the Archives. Perhaps sell them, too. [ Well, now that she owns a shop. It would be a good addition. ] I'm going to enchant them, too. So that I can update them as more information comes in, meaning someone would only ever need the one copy.
[ A researcher's dream. ]
I'm very glad too. I worried him sick. [ It was definitely quite the feat, and Luna is certainly quite glad that Ruby and Ange were there, too. ] Well, not much so far. Although I should mention that a blood ritual done to Moon Presence will cure someone from the very end stages of Corruption, at least.
[ It's... still a work in progress in regards to Beasthood. However: ]
A Blood Bond is a pact between two or more people. It's otherwise known as a Bonding Pact. It's a blood ritual first created by Doorway. There's different kinds: Romantic, Familial, Platonic and Hostile. Each has their own different abilities that comes with that.
[ Moving closer to the camera, she turns her head to the side and points to her cheek. It's hard to see, but he might catch the very faint, silvery mark of a handprint there. ]
My boyfriend and I performed the Romantic Bond, as it suggested it was possible to bring back one another from Beasthood, which is now proven given my experience. I've also discovered that the Familial Bond also cures Beasthood.

[ And oh, that's news to him. ] A blood ritual? To Moon Presence?
I can also cut the corruption from someone, before or after they're a Beast, but it's still a violent thing that requires my sword. Although I suppose a blood ritual also sounds like it might have its drawbacks. How does that work? It seems like something we should make sure everyone here knows. Since people are already coming to the Sanctuary for help with their corruption.
And, ah... [ He blinks, processing what she says about the Bonding Pact. Doorway... that it isn't just romantic, something he would have presumed and thus shied away from. ]
That's amazing, about the bonds... I had no idea. [ Not to that extent at least; he was in one of those "pods" during Doorway's month. He's heard about "bonds" and "bonded" of course, living here as long as he has, but he didn't realize it was to an extent like this. To be able to pull anyone back from Beasthood... Familial connections, too.
He's quiet for a moment, his expression becoming much more thoughtful. ]
I had no idea, but... it makes sense. [ He's speaking more gently. Softly, like it's a heavy and important sort of topic that deserves care. ]
The bonds people have for each other are strong. The strongest sort of thing there is. That's something I know from the world I came from, too.

I kind of... made one up, myself. My boyfriend was very heavily under the effects of Corruption. I know Moon Presence well, and I was very desperate to save him, so I asked her for her help. [ Very much 'winging it', as the modern kids say. ] Under the moon, at night, I gave her offerings of my blood, flowers I conjured myself, and a song. Blood, considering she's a Pthumerian; flowers are important to her, part of her magic. She likes music, and likes when you sing to her.
[ She thinks that's what made her voice louder as she cried out to the skies for her; she began to sing — a song important to her and Peter. Maybe Cynthia heard and felt the love in her voice, understood the love. The song Peter sang to her once: I wanted to sing it to you because it's— how you make me feel. ]
She gave me a vial of glowing white liquid, I think it's something she made. Something called Moon Essense? It cured my boyfriend of his Corruption.
[ Moon Presence is her hero, really. ]
There's a book? Beginners Guide For Blood Pacts. It tells you all about them. [ Easily accessible, too. But Luna does add with a sombreness: ] They're not something to be taken lightly, doing the Bonds is quite a hefty commitment. But it's an option between parties who'd really want something like that to keep one another safe.
