I wonder.
[In view was a rose bush, a pale hand cupping a rose of delicate blue, others yet to bloom and some still with their petals curled close within the shot. Moving then, downwards as fingertips brushed open petals of another.]
Does anyone have a particularly favorite color of rose?
[The one under Alice's touch slowly darkened in color, going from shades of blue to purple to pink-]
These have been coming along well.
[A project she'd taken up with Break, once things had settled between them and weren't so tender. A play with Darkblood abilities, and of course she'd taken to it like a duck to water. Of course it was a project she'd let take up a lot of her time, a distraction from things that had been going on.
A want of seeing beautiful flower gardens once upon a time not a terrible inspiration to sink time in to. A creative outlet.]
Whether the color has meaning to you or not, isn't it nice to see something you like? Perhaps thought you might never again, even something so small as a rose of a particular hue.

[A thought, bringing the omni over to show a rose bush that had a few shades of blue.]
Would you like me to bring some inside? We can put them in a vase for you.
[Perhaps see if they could be kept like that, given some experiments in her own room.]
no subject
[Not that she really perused florists ever but still.
Echo is a bit taken aback by the suggestion.]
If... If you feel like doing so, that is fine. I am unsure how long flowers last in this environment, however.

Oh...that one, theâpale blue. They were very rare on my world, andâalways my favorite.
[she smiles sadly, but then she brightens.]
There is another color I like very much, a sort of...gold? It had pink around the edges. If you might wait a momentâ
[but her white raven omen swoops into frame, holding a carefully dried rose in his beak. sansa accepts it with a smile.]
Thank you, Winter.
[she holds it up to the omni camera.]
Like this.

[Her voice was soft, even if for a moment the camera view remained on the roses- and at least with a panning there could be other pale blue roses growing well. A few purple ones, and some that were a mix of purple and blue- much like the one she was describing.
Colors aside, of course.
She turned the omni so she could get a better look-]
Oh, that is beautiful. I could try to replicate it, if you'd like.
[Small things, Alice found and truly believed could mean the most to people. Including herself.]

It's very sweet of you to offer. I should be glad to see them, if you do.
May I ask if you might be able to plant some of the blue roses by my home? I could pay you in bloodstone, or make you anything you might like to wear.

[Her laugh was soft-] I just find them pretty myself, despite holding a fondness for some in particular.
[Still, the camera moved and landed on a grouping of soft pink roses. A hand reaching carefully to cup one, it blooming fuller to the touch.]
Pink like this? I know they can be darker, or even brighter.

I'm not very good at botany or alchemy myself, but I can definitely appreciate them. I know that roses have a variety of uses other than just being nice to look at, but I prefer to leave the gathering to the experts.
That's a wonderful ability you have there though, getting flowers to bloom.

I like the pink ones, and the purple ones. Used to make flowers all the time back home...

[Her tone kept light, wistful almost, and implied all the same that promise was never fulfilled.
Still! She moved the camera on to a group of roses, a few of them a mix of purple and pink, and others more solid with hints of the other along the edges.]
I think, perhaps, making one will be just as good, if not better. [She hummed, as if a thought came back-] What flowers did you used to make?
I'd love to hear about it, honestly.

[It requires a little background, Michael supposes; he doubles back.]
I've recently taken over operations of the more pleasant half of the human afterlife. Heaven, if you want to call it that. Humans like flowers. It isn't all flower gardens, of course, that'd be boring - but I like plants, too. I guess it's a little nostalgic.
[The fake Good Place had flowers all over! His understanding of humans was a lot more basic back then, but he'd known more than enough to make a convincing heaven for them. Even years later, he was still a little proud to find that the real Good Place looked quite similar!]

[ a beat, and then: ] But red's always a good standby.

[She picked up then, walking along a few rose bushes and- well, there were a few deep red ones she settled by. Most not quite open, but that changed when she reached out and carefully brushed fingertips along one stem, avoiding thorns.
A large red rose opened as if in fast forward.]
I was always fond of blue myself- and pink is also delightful, really.

[ An absolute flawless conclusion brought to you by someone who thinks watering his houseplant is actual gardening. ]

Action as is my right
[This comes from Break, plonked right on the ground nearby, during a lull in Alice's other conversations. Despite his comment he is presently working on some aggressively gothic red roses himself, for completely transparent Break reasons having to do with a bird.]
Well, there's no accounting for taste, I suppose.
We do what we want
[Even with her fondness of blue and pink, she held purple right there with them in all the shades- and it's probably why there were a few patches filled with a mix of them.
Of course Alice was seated mid-air, skirts tucked close and omni bobbing in the air beside her.]
What better way to show that purple is a color that well deserves a fondness of it's own for roses?
no subject
Something something useful in a fight probably, but mostly everyone else would really hate it.]
I wonder if we might plant them here and there outside of our own grounds and get away with it. Depending on the state of the soil here and there, I imagine they'd need a great deal of maintenance. [It would be horribly depressing if they slacked off and the roses died.] You've seen the pink trees, yes?

(But even that isn't anything too new in a place like this, is it?) ]
.. Do you think that many people have an attachment to roses?
[ Granted, technically Ange does too, proving her own point.
But she likes to think she's the exception, and she'd rather not talk about herself anyway, so it feels easier to turn this question back around on the other. It's always more safe. ]
Voice
[Roses were a good place to start, something she had wanted to see for so long. Why not use it to push and make something like this? More so with how determined Break was with his own task of it, and then using each other to springboard in to a wonderful garden.
One that the two of them were determined to make as colorful as possible.]
It could just be the color for some, and the flower doesn't matter. Roses are, well, simple isn't the right word. They do and can hold many meanings, perhaps, would be right.
