(VIDEO) — UN: BOMBSHELL

(the video begins of a zoom up of a pair of eyes. an animal to be exact. they blink curiously before it gets pulled back -- revealing it's a spider monkey holding the omni. he holds it up above him and even turns it upside-down and other various angles. hopefully the lovely people aren't easily to become motion sickness upon viewing this but if they do, their own fault really.)

(there's a voice coming from off camera; familiar to some or not. but the monkey looks off to the direction of the voice before turning the omni over so whoever is watching can now see jinx sitting in a chair -- slouching with her arm hanging over the top railing. there's a grin that slowly grows on her face, however, it's not... exactly a friendly kind. impish? troubling? dangerous? you'd be the judge. nevertheless, jinx hunches over now with both her arms drape over her knees -- looking directly at the omni.)

So! — Greetings people of.... whatever this place is. Kiiiinda forgot the name but not really important. I've been hearin' a lotta here and there that I've been here before. Don't really remember it, though. (a brief pause as she thinks.) Except the last time. I remember the last time but not the other times.

Buuuuuuuuut ♪! Since I've been here a whoooole BUNCH of times that means I gotta have some friends here, right?

(she bites her bottom lip to hold back a giggle as the video suddenly wavers around. but quickly it straightens up and focus with a closer look of jinx (it seems she's the one holding it now) in a bird's eye view. her spider monkey climbs on her body then curling himself along her shoulder and neck while also looking up at the feed along with her.)

So if ya know me, contact me. OH! And you got like, thirty minutes to convince me why my former self even bothered wasting my breath on you. Don't keep me waitin' too long 'cuz I get bored easily.

(a beat.)

ACTUALLY, NEVERMIND!!! — Decided to change it to twenty minutes. (her spider monkey seems to be screeching in laughter at jinx's sudden time change but resumes on nuzzling it's head against her cheek.)

OH OH! One more big thing. There's someone here by the name of Vi. If you know her, contact me too. So we can aaaaalll be friends and get along. No shame in that, right?

(she says this but there's something about that smile that really makes it... off putting. regardless though, jinx hums quietly as she cocks her head to the side.)

Tick-tock, tick-tock.

So far but then I got thrown back pretty quick. Looks like this time I'm stickin' since it's been a few days.

(the video wavers again as she gets up to move somewhere there's a desk or something she can prop the omni. jinx is getting tired of just holding it and her omen decided to go off elsewhere, too.)

Something maybe kept you too unstable to maintain a non-squid form. It happens sometimes, I think. People showing up and leaving a lot around certain times of the month.

Not sure I've heard many people call this place "weird in a good way," though. is cloudy with a chance of body horror your aesthetic?

I think growin' an extra leg would be cool to see! Or a head.

The tentacles from Squid-form was enough for me, thanks. Extra limbs are such a pain. And if you have two heads, one's going to die if you don't have double the lung capacity. Unless both only have half a brain.

[She hopes that the casual conversation is not as volatile as where this may have been heading, but also isn't lying about her feelings.]

(she huffs while she leans back on her chair; rocking back and forth on its back legs.)

No one has ever called me a "snoreville." Just not my brand of cool. I like building cool shit more than I like turning into an eldritch nightmare beast. I tried to make myself into a mermaid once. Do not recommend. Do you know how hard it is to build a golem with webbed hands and no feet? Also the needing water instead of oxygen thing.

[Roan had not been amused with her rune-play at that time. Thirteen-year-old's gonna try to live their childhood fantasies, okay?]

A lot of cool shit. Golems are just magical puppets or robots, depending on the materials you use. I prefer metal-working 'em. Using wood or stone is nice but doesn't have the durability.

Robots?! Okay, now I'm all ears...! — Y'know how many mechanical species I wanted to rip apart back home and see how they ticked? It would drive me nuts.

[Species? Rip apart? Okay, she knew Vi's sister was...cray. But girl is serial killer cray. What do you even say to someone who casually talks about ripping apart living animals for the hell of it?]

Nah, can't say I do. I prefer making my own. Golems can look like whatever I need them to.

[Saeri is quiet for a moment, considering. Not like Jinx could copy the way she makes her golems, since she knows runes aren't the same in her world, thanks to Vi. So she switches to video and directs her camera to the counter where some of her projects are in various states of completion. She focuses on the tiny golem she's working on.]

Eh...could be a fun prank, if it's something funny and they wouldn't die without it, but I wouldn't know what's "valuable" for 75% of the people around here.

Just make it steal coins or somethin'! — Yeahyeahyeah, it's like the oobbviouuuss thing but it's what everyone is glued to. Or you can go the extra mile and learn your target.

(jinx wiggles her eyebrows mischievously with a light bite of her lip.)

— Figure out what they're into, what they like, dislike, what's important, then go from there. I'd say maybe about a week in, you'll be able to know the basics. Nothin' fancy. But if you wanna to know your prey down to the grit, probably a month?

Yeah, I don't think I have the patience for that. Best to stick to build for my own use. I'll get more out of my golems that way. [She managed to avoid "and not stalk people," but only just.]

Stealing money would only work if people actually used it around here. Businesses are more likely to ask for seashells, antlers, or feathers off rare birds in the forest. Money isn't a thing.

(what a silly girl this girl is. jinx is basically giving her solid gold advice and her teachings for free and she's not taking it. she is willing to bet in her future, she'll come crawling to jinx for more input. shaking her head at the idiocy, jinx leans back in her chair again. tsk, tsk.)

I've stolen plenty of shit before, but never from someone who needed it. There aren't enough grossly rich assholes around who deserve to be taken down a peg or three.
