I hope you would be willing to accept my apology and if not, direct me in ways where I can make amends. I . . . do not usually need or require blood as sustenance so it took me by surprise.

My apologies. If it helps, it seems I've lost my sense of taste. Perhaps that is penance in a way.

They're very common in Wallachia.

It does happen here, sometimes - some of the non-Sleepers went after a friend of mine, not long ago.

But I wouldn't say it's common.

Wallachia's society is rather primitive. They have ways to go before they stop resorting to violence.

You know, where I'm from has had space travel for thousands of years. But we still have war and other stupid reasons people kill each other all the time.

I like your measure of a society better.

Oh, I don't expect war or strife to change, but chances are you won't get murdered because you believe in electricity or tripped into someone.
