It's a hilarious trip, and you do NOT need to have seen the first four to understand what is going on.

I managed to get out after a job went really badly. Otherwise I'd be overjoyed to be here instead of back where I came from.

We all find our way around here, don't we?
For some of us its really an improvement over home, and for some of us close to the same.
At least if you dive back into the ocean, things aren't too bad for you back home, right?

Had to come from somewhere. Not sure what's better—this being an improvement or the same. Home has to suck bad to prefer this place.

See, that depends. Does it matter how long we are here? Because I was on a spaceship, in space. If I go back to the same 'space,' but the spaceship is gone, that's going to end badly.

Well. To be honest? This place can be roughly as bad.
But this place is also somewhere I haven't made the same mistakes that I made at home.
I think for me it's an improvement because as long as I'm here, I can wait for her.
And I'm willing to wait.

As far as I know, it probably doesn't matter at all.
You'll probably return if you do to the time you were taken from.

So baggage is what it comes down to. Whatever people bring with, leave behind, and pick up here.

Considering how things played out for she and I?
I think she might be better off here, but she's the more likely to be ok where she is.
And I'm willing to wait forever for her.
It just gets hard sometimes.

Well, not to put too fine of a point on it?
I probably got myself and a person in this town I consider a friend killed, or close to it.
And my wife was lucky enough not to be on that side of the cross-hairs.

But we fell in love and married here, and there we weren't quite that close.
We'd known each other for years and worked together, but ended up on other sides of that fight.
It all got really bad and messy, lots of pain wrapped up in it.

Mushy serials would probably just make her laugh at me.
Which means I should totally do it.

It was one hell of a crazy ride, the two of us trying not to admit it at first.
I do really miss her, obviously, but I'm just glad she's not where I am in my world.
I want her to be safe.
