I see. Thus, you are something like a symbiote or a passenger in his mind? I've heard such things happening, in my world of origin.

Gold is of little use in a world where it has little value, especially to a man who has little need for it, but who does have a need for blood.

You probably know what a parasite is. A symbiote is a creature which lives off another species, benefitting the host creature. Lichens are a prime example, as they are two creatures in one: an algae and a fungus. The fungus provides the algae a surface to attach to, and the algae provides the fungus with nourishment through photosynthesis.

Pardon the scientific talk. I was a molecular biologist before I arrived here.

I've rather enough sharp things at my disposal. And gold doesn't take a good edge.
