(can one even make out what's happening? there's just a lot of frantic movement. there's a point it does stop and one will spot some familiar establishments. it seems this is taking place in WILLFUL MACHINE and whoever is the recorder is up high like on a rooftop of some kind. finally the recorder speaks, it's a (ooc: mugman/cuphead goofy accent) voice no one will recognize except fang or vi since he doesn't usually speak unless needed:)
Oh man, oh man! I only looked away for a few seconds. Where did she go now?
(well to answer this omen's question, there's some shots being fired somewhere in the distance. the omen monkey screeches and back to the frantic running. occasionally in his pants, one can hear him say,"We might have an emergency! Someone might be hurt!" there's a maniac crackling, too. it's echoing in the skies and becomes louder the more this omen is getting closer to the scene. and finally now on ground level, there are trenchies running from the opposite direction from where this omen is sitting -- luckily, they are darting out the way so he won't get trampled over.
and there is jinx with her gun aiming down at the citizen lying there on his back. is there blood? yes, there is. the trenchie is definitely wounded on his shoulder in which he grips over.)
Please, I'm sorry!! I-I didn't mean to pull on your hair. It was an accident, I swear!!
(all...this...fuss over a hair tug? it's like jinx has forgotten how ridiculously long her braids are. however though, she doesn't seem to be taking the apology but instead grinning wickedly before crouching down to the stranger. the barrel is press hard underneath his chin; maybe it'll leave an imprint there. she certainly hopes so. chewing on her bottom lip, she finally decides to speak...sorta.)

(maybe [YOU] are out here in WILLFUL MACHINE and saw the commotion and [YOU] wish to stop this mayhem. well, it's too bad. because the moment jinx starts moving, [YOU] will be her backup dancer to her singing and dancing. hope you have a fun workout!
meanwhile, mr.bananas is just recording this still because he is completely dumbfounded at what the fuck is happening. TOO MUCH IS GOING ON!!! oh as for the bloody trenchie? he ran off during this dance number so. at least, he's got away and is safe somewhere.)

[ The words are said very softly. It's a difficult idea for Chizuru to accept - the idea that anyone could actually be jinxed like that. Almost cursed to forever have to live with hurt. It just.. doesn't feel right in any sort of way.
On the other hand, she also doesn't want to question the other on that belief. Not when she knows so little about Jinx, nor when the other sounds so sure about it.
But.. even so, Chizuru can't just let it remain like this. Not when Jinx really does seem like she's hurting. When her hurt spirals so much that it's affecting even her surroundings. It hurts-- just watching the other like this. ]
But even if it can't be lifted or stopped.. It could be lessened, right..? [ It's a careful suggestion, but Chizuru sounds like she truly wants to believe in that.
Because it's just not fair for someone to have to deal with always hurting. That's impossible for anyone to deal with, no matter how strong Jinx has seemed to her so far. ]
I don't know about you, but.. for me it always feels easier to deal with hurt when I'm sharing it with other people. When I can talk to someone, or just lean on them.. It makes the hurt a little less painful, you know..?

(ah. she should probably continue moving before she accidentally freezes herself in place again. and it's always a chore to try to break herself out of her own icicles.)
— 'Sides relying on people shows weakness. Once they learn your weak spot, they'll use it as a weapon. Turn it against you. ... They'll betray you. (a very small chuckle.) You think they won't do that but... there's always another side of someone. Somethin' you would never expect.

But it's one thing to mean those words, and it's another thing entirely for the other person to be in the right spot to accept them. Chizuru technically has no proof to back up those words, so she doesn't say them. Instead she pauses, and then speaks up again, asking quietly: ]
Did that many people hurt you..?
[ There's an implication in Jinx's words, after all. She wouldn't think all of that unless people did use her weakness against her. Unless she kept getting hurt like that.
It gives Chizuru a nasty tight feeling in her chest, bundles of worry and sympathy. ]

My whole realm back home hurt me. Don't really see how this — (she extends out her hand to gesture all of trench.) — will make a difference. Here, there... it's probably all the same.
(very steadily, the snow is ceasing to fall and her hair while still icy white -- there's some blue.)

[ That's how Chizuru prefers to see it. She's never seen anything as a game, or a competition - nothing about scoring points, or situations where there's a winning and a losing party. It's not the sort of way she likes to think about the world.
Instead she prefers this. A show of gratitude from her end, because she really does feel relieved that Jinx isn't out there hurting people anymore. ]
Do you.. um. [ She hesitates on offering, if not just because it feels bold. Perhaps even a little too bold. Chizuru chews her lower lip, seeming to think, but then goes ahead and says it anyway. ] Do you want me to come out there? If you really want to be alone, then I'll respect that, but.. I think it might be better if you weren't alone right now.
[ And of course Chizuru never hesitates to offer company. Especially with how rapidly she's growing fond of Jinx. Sure, the other is a little odd, but.. it's odd in a way that reminds her of someone she knows back home, and it makes the same desire to protect his heart bleed through in the way she really wants to protect Jinx's as well now. ]

[ .. honestly, it probably would have been less corny to just say that she's into bad girls, huh. Especially since this is so apparently genuine on Chizuru's part. There's no sign that she's lying about that, anyway.
The last thing she says before the feed shuts down is, as if only remembering that she may not have told the other before now-- ]
Um, and-- my name is Chizuru..!
[ The feed does shut down after though. But it doesn't take that long - due to a combination of using the lanterns around town and Chizuru apparently running her little heart out, judging by how much she seems to be out of breath once she appears near where Jinx is - for her to show up. Chizuru has a coat tightly drawn around her against the way the weather has started to grow colder, but even with the way she seems to out of breath from rushing over, it's like Jinx is the only thing she's looking at as she approaches. ]
Miss Jinx..! [ She barely manages to force the word out, and when she finally reaches the other's side, Chizuru has to lean on her knees to try and catch her breath for a moment. ] You're-- You're okay, right? Nothing happened while I was making my way over..? Are you hurt?

but despite that, chizuru still wishes to "be there for her"? her name is something almost didn't catch as she resumes to stare bewildered into her omen's eyes. and it's once the feed is off the red on her cheeks shine through pale complexion -- the pink of her eyes aglow. mr.bananas simply giggles and even does a cheeky nudge of his elbow at her neck. a "ooooooo, there's someone that got you to bluuushh!!" nature. she huffs at him then a quick shake of her head. ugh!! how dumb!! pull it together!!)
(except she goes right back to not when she hears the other girl sprinting towards her. why in the world is she running? there's a slow turn to face her fully with a slow quirk of an eyebrow.)

Instead all she sees is the expression the other gives her as soon as Chizuru shows up. ]
Ah.. Well, you never know here.. I-I mean, one of those people from before could've come after you!
[ It's how it usually goes in Chizuru's experience, anyway. If you end up like that, threatening someone, then them or their friends often come after you in turn. She's seen it happen often enough, but.. just knowing that Jinx has been here and alright, without things escalating again, is enough to put a smile on the other's face as she steps closer towards Jinx. ]
.. I'm glad you're okay though.
[ Every word of that sounds like it's meant, and full of relief. ]
I got really worried when I saw that on the Omni.. [ For a myriad of reasons. Worried about Jinx, about the people around her, about the meaning of it all. ] But.. as expected, you're so cool and strong that you're alright after all.

[ Yeah, Chizuru definitely isn't used to getting nicknames - especially not when they're shortened versions of her name. Very, very shortened versions.
It makes her release that surprised little sound before she quickly starts following Jinx, not wanting to be left behind. ]
Okay, that's fine with me! [ There's no protest though. Sure, it's surprising, but it's not like it's bad! ] But-- miss Jinx, you should really thank your Omen! If it wasn't for them, I wouldn't have known that you were having a hard time..

(and with that, she'll grab something from a food stand swiftly as they walk pass without "paying". although to jinx's defense, the trenchie who owns that stand is nowhere present (mostly due to being scared off) so it's easy pickings. the blue braided girl offers the fruit first to her omen and he refuses. he does not take things that stolen in which she rolls her eyes over.

.. then she does just stare for a moment at the way it rests in her hands, rather than actually moving to take a bite out of it. Apparently the girl is also struggling a little with this entire 'stolen' idea...
Maybe it's why she opts to first talk to the other as they walk. ]

[ Does Chizuru believe this? It's hard to tell, since her expression is so neutral as she glances over at the other..
She doesn't leave it at just that, either way, since she continues with: ]
But.. if you were ever having a hard time.. [ Which, you know, clearly isn't the case here! Obviously! Totally! ] .. you know you can always tell me, right..?

ugh, what would silco think if he saw her like this? to allow someone beyond him know more about her? jinx huffs out a breath in defeat -- a head shake, but a low chuckle. being her playful self, she lightly finger flick chizuru's forehead with a grin. )

And rather than protesting the nickname - e-even though she isn't sure how she's like a rabbit! - there's something else those words make her think of, along with the fruit she's still holding in her hand.
Not necessarily something she thinks is Jinx's style, but.. on the other hand, maybe it's something a little lighter she can share with the other at a moment like this. ]

( because why else would anyone call it that? or maybe the rabbit is red like an apple? that sounds rather ridiculous but trench, so far, has been filled with a lot of ridiculousness.
another possible guess could be the rabbit's bottom being shaped like an apple. now that she thinks more on this, that is possible more realistic than her previous thoughts.)

[ Chizuru seems to start rather enthusiastically, some energy and pep in her voice, though it grinds to a sudden halt as she realises something. Sure, she could use her sword, but it's just a little bit too big and impractical for this demonstration..
And the last thing she wants to do is accidentally cut herself in front of Jinx, not when it'd show the other that Chizuru is actually a monster. ]

[ Look, Jinx was waving a gun around very, very casually a few moments ago.
It's not too strange an assumption the other might have a knife on her too, right. ]

fishing for her back pocket, she pulls out a pocket knife of some kind. the girl twirls it between her index and middle before extending out (the safe part facing her) for her to grab. )

after all, it'd be a little impossible to always be there for the other girl if she is in danger. chizuru should be able to know how to hold her own for a little while until she can swoop in and save her from any harm. jinx won't think much of it but tonight for sure, she will wonder back on this as to why so suddenly she wants to protect chizuru so bad. why is she taking such a strong liking to this girl? it's so weird.
anyway.
when the apple bunny is finish, she takes the one offered for a closer look of the craftsmanship. it really is cute. )

So when Jinx is chewing on it like that, Chizuru just smiles over at the other, a bit of excitement and - perhaps even - hope in her eyes as she looks at the other. ]

[ She seems so.. expectant..
Even though, you know, it's still just a normal apple part. It's not like carving it into a bunny changes the shape or anything. But Chizuru seems so eager to get a compliment fron Jinx. Her absolute full attention is turned towards the other. ]

her jaw clenches as she ignores the whispers buzzing in her ear. it's something she doesn't want chizuru to witness -- that the dead claws on her back and stick to her like glue. if she knew, she'd look at her funny and see her as a freak. despite her muscles tensing, jinx looks over to the other girl with a tiny smile. )
