[Kassandra had spent the better part of a day figuring out just how to use the Omni before doing this. She's not technologically inclined, but once she had certain things pinpointed it wasn't difficult to work out some of the basic functions. Including ill-advised videos introducing herself, though she clearly hasn't mastered the Art of the Selfie.

The video feed opens at an odd angle showing a tanned woman, thankfully right-side up, staring at it with furrowed brows. Deep in concentration for a moment more, she simply stares at the camera in silence until she seems to come to a conclusion. Nodding, the woman exhales, and finally speaks up.]

...Hello. If other people are able to hear me, please say something so I don't keep talking to a rock and wondering if it really is magic or if I am crazy.

[Her voice has a heavy Greek accent, and if her attire is any indication she is not of the modern era.]

If I am talking to a magic rock, then know that my name is Kassandra, and I am looking for my family and my crew. Men named Alexios, Nikolaos, Barnabas and Stentor...and women named Myrinne, Roxana, and Odessa. I have hope that I am not alone in being reborn in this strange land, yet I have seen no sign of them.

[There's a pause as she fiddles with the Omni one more time.]

Aletheia, if you can hear this, show yourself.

[And then the feed drops.]

[ Cool, then she's gonna switch. It's ancient Greek, too, all the better to understand each other. ]

I'd hope so, since you are Greek. And spend enough time in a place like this and it's easy to get bleak.

[Easier than relying on a translation yeah.]

And why is that? It seems lively enough, and nobody has tried to kill me yet. That is an improvement from where I left.

It's not really about people trying to kill you, though. For people like you and me, that's nothing. It's all the psychological torture that gets hard to take.

And here I thought you'd be warning me to expect to fight the Minotaur daily.

[She has a glib enough spark in her voice, but her eyes are serious, focused on the camera and the younger woman. The tone shifts as she stops joking.]

...I have no regrets, but that sounds less than pleasant. Is there some sort of magic here that can get into my memories?

[ In Clarisse's opinion, fighting the Minotaur daily would be preferable. ]

Yeah, I guess. Something like that, anyway. And everybody here has a blood... thing... now.

Mmm. Yes, I've been told that I'll have blood magic.

Something about that feels strange, but I guess also familiar. Is it the same for you?

I already had powers. I didn't want more.

Well, is it something you can change? Or is accepting it and move on the better course?

The... second one, I guess. [ She sounds glum about it though. ] Haven't heard there's any way of changing it.

[Is that practical advice coming from this meathead?]

[ Clarisse scowls. It's probably the best advice she'll get, but it's not what she wants. ]

Easy for you to say. You just showed up. I've been here a month, and before that, I spent almost two years in the place that came before this one.

It is easy for me to say, because it's the truth. What practical purpose is there in being upset at being given something you lacked before?

[Yeah. It's not what she wants to hear, but Kassandra's going to say it.]

[ She scoffs loudly. ] Not everything is a gift just because you didn't have it before.

[And Kassandra just patiently looks back at the screen.]

Yes, I'm aware of that. But have these powers harmed you? Have they taken something from you?

They do not seem a Trojan horse to me, Clarisse. Unless you know something that I do not.

[ She sighs heavily and props her chin in one hand. It's all very dramatic. ]

...I do not know what Greeks are like in your time but do not chide me without explaining yourself, please. I am your elder, and unless things have changed greatly, that is rude.

[What she sees is a dramatic youth.]

I asked you a question, 'how have they harmed you' and you responded like one might in a play. What am I supposed to do but respond in kind, Clarisse? If you do not wish to speak if it, then that is your right, but do not expect me to understand what you are saying without explanation.

[ "your elder"... Clarisse makes a face, obviously unconcerned with the fact that Kassandra's older than she is. Who cares? ]

And I said it's none of your business! Just because you don't understand what I'm talking about yet doesn't mean it's not the truth. Or that you should ignore me just because you're my elder.

Ugh. Allow me to lay things out from my perspective.

[Kassandra makes an irritated noise, her expression somewhere between a scowl and a disappointed frown.]

I wasn't ignoring anything you were saying. I was asking you for an explanation, and your response was to act like a dramatic teenager and then to deny me the information because I decided to try and be friendly.

[She holds up a finger, patiently continuing, though that is beginning to fray.]

I am here looking for information that might be useful in learning about my new situation, and you tell me that the powers we have been given may harm me. And then you tell me it is not my concern. So I do not know what your truth is.

So, do I need to worry about these changes or not?
