Seventeen or eighteen maybe, with a bright red mark on his face that looks somewhere between a scar and a tattoo as much as it stems from a mark that's also halfway between a star or an inverted pentagram. Garishly out of place on an otherwise pale and muted complexion and gentle face. ]

With a lot of the city shut down because of the snow, if there's anyone having trouble finding food or shelter, Sanctuary in Crenshaw will be helping whoever it can. It might not be much, but it can be a meal or warm bed for the night. [ And hope everyone likes fish, because there's a lot of that that's been salted and stockpiled. But also a lot of baked things served with some of the corruption-cleansing jams from earlier in the year.

Which, anyone who already volunteers there... you can bet you were already cheerfully accosted and asked to help, soup kitchen style. ♥ It's a team effort. ✧ Either that or clearing snow; it's a big place... albeit warm itself this month, and shining like a jewel from the lunar lighting and heating within. The renovated Moon Presence monastery seems to be taking the blindingly bright bone moon and reflecting it back in a gentler manner for anyone inside. ]

There isn't a cost. Just try to help out however you can when you're able.

[ He pauses, about to leave it at that but hesitating. Expression still neutrally polite and composed, but... flickering for a moment. ]

...if anyone would like to help closer to when Christmas would normally be, it'd be nice to do something special for the orphanage as well. Maybe donate some presents for them. 

[ That's it. He'll just quietly leave it at that. ]

[sansa has been busy sewing woolen cloaks and smallclothes as well as scrouging up enough fur and sheepskin stoles for everyone, when she hasn't been buying and freezing meat for the wolves or delivering cartloads of mushrooms and cheeses to the sanctuary along with the painted turtle clinic and even the roost.

she may have heard of christmas in passing, but she hasn't actually looked into it yet. she wears a black woolen dress thickly embroidered with ravens and feathers, and her braids pinned back into a small bun. lady has a matching collar. the other dogs are likely at the sanctuary under s'mores' supervision.

the direwolf sigil on the tapestry behind her couch has mysteriously acquired antlers this month. sansa peers up from the heavy woolen sewing project in her lap.]

I don't know very much about Christmas. What sort of presents would they like? We should have enough cloaks for all the children, but I don't think we should wait very long to give them their winter things.

[ Always so practical, Sansa. Thinking of the things you can make for others to keep them safe and warm--and stylish. It pulls a fond smile from Allen. ]

Mn, I wasn't thinking so much gifts like that when those are things they already need and should be given. If they don't already have clothes warm enough.

Traditionally for Christmas-- I think most children would look forward to toys and things to play with. Sweets, too.

[it's more that cloth and clothes are the sort of gifts her parents might have given to the children of winterfell on their namedays. toys last a lot longer than clothes, and aren't so easy to find. her mouth curves to one side.]

I don't think we'll lack for sweets.

[still, sansa makes a note to go over their stores of things like honey and chocolate, just in case. she frowns a little in concentration, sticking her needle into the fabric pile in her lap.]

There must be toymakers in Willful Machine, but I wouldn't know what sort of toys they might like best. We had dolls and wooden swords; I suppose there are all the balls and sticks and things for the games they play here. But I do think the older children might rather have something nice to wear; perhaps I can find some simple jewelry, that anyone might like.

[ It makes sense, though he also figures it partly has to do with her craft. Though honestly, in Allen's life, being a penniless sort of pseudo-Victorian urchin... receiving new clothes of any kind, even just clean and mended ones, was practically an opulent luxury and would be a gift of the highest tier. So he gets it... A part of him just so desperately wants to see them have something that truly lets them have a childhood, perhaps. ]

Someone else had the idea of having the children make lists of the things they want. Maybe we could have them write letters like to Santa? [ pause

—deeper pause ]

Is there some sort of... tradition here for that?

[ He... he really wasn't sure whether to believe Maul or not... Santa Pthumerian... ]

[sansa laughs gently.]

I wouldn't know. I only know about Santa because Raleigh told me a little about the Land of Always Winter on his world. I didn't even know he had anything to do with Christmas. Do they often write letters to him?

[it is theoretically an earth tradition, and allen is from an earth...she pauses, considering.]

I think they make wreaths for Dorothea.

[that is really all she's heard about december traditions...also something about the curse of a very stupid hunter, but that seems less to do with the holidays.]

Once a year, to ask for what they want in terms of presents. [ Said gently and neutrally. After all, most of these traditions... they're ones he understands and saw, but never was part of. ]

It's just a tradition though. A fun story encouraging people to be good and to give children someone kind and larger than life to believe in. [ He blinks, and smiles then. Tapping a finger thoughtfully against his lip. ]

People would dress up as him to hand out presents sometimes. Especially for the less fortunate.
