[He still doesn't trust people, not here. Not anywhere, really. But he has to know. In a place this weird, he has to know.]
I'm just wondering... who here is not human? You don't need to tell me who you are if you don't want to, but I just want to get a sense for how many people who are not human are here.
I can't be the only one.
And a second question: is it safe for those who are not human here? I mean, I am definitely not like one of those beast things and I have no plans of attacking people. But human-dominated places tend to be somewhat unsafe for us.
And if you are some kind of mad scientist type reading this? Fuck off. We don't need people like you on our asses.
[Is that enough of a difference from his usual typing? He'll have to be careful about capitalization and punctuation so it sounds different from him, but...]

HOW DARE
I'd like to know what prompted this question.
hehehehehohohoho
You are the only respondent so far who hasn't made a point of being nonhuman.
And one of the few not to immediately condemn them for being fearful of other kinds.

The condemnation doesn't surprise me, but that doesn't morally justify it.
I'll allow that perspectives might be different in a place where humanity isn't clinging onto existence by the skin of its teeth, but fear doesn't originate from thin air.
But no. I'm not human. Are you?
no subject
Just so.]
I am not, nor can I be mistaken for one. Humans are one of many kinds of thinking being on my own world--the youngest of the four most populous species. They thrive in most places, but even so have reasons both justified and unjustified to be afraid of what they don't know or understand.
But then so do all of us.
Do you take some responsibility for your endangered humans, even if you aren't one yourself?

But the notions of duty and obligation are universal, and he understands them all the more now, if in a different light than before.]
I'm not sure whether you mean that more in the sense of protection or accountability, but I do. Whether they appreciate it or not.
What exactly are you, if not human-derived?
no subject
A sort of elf. In my world, we come from the lineage of dragons. And birds.
Dinosaurs may be a more familiar term for our dragons, I have learned.
And you?

[Even knowing that the person he's talking to isn't human, doesn't look human, and originated from something entirely unrelated to humans, this still prompts a rather violent reorienting of his mental image. The mention of dragons and the curious female-default hypothetical brings to mind something like a deathclaw matriarch.]
I can't claim to come from any kind of lineage. I'm a lab-created synthetic. As far as I'm aware, the scientists who churned me out mean to use the likes of us as weapons and surveillance for whatever grander plan they've designed to sate their own egos.
