I'm just wondering... who here is not human? You don't need to tell me who you are if you don't want to, but I just want to get a sense for how many people who are not human are here.

And a second question: is it safe for those who are not human here? I mean, I am definitely not like one of those beast things and I have no plans of attacking people. But human-dominated places tend to be somewhat unsafe for us.

And if you are some kind of mad scientist type reading this? Fuck off. We don't need people like you on our asses.

I am what is called an Onelthes. We are humanoid, but not human. The most distinctive part is our third eye. In my world, there are difficulties of relations between some races, but that is not always specifically because of that race. A lot of wars.

Here in Trench? You should have no problems. We have had many who aren't human. You might get a stare or two from the curious. That should be the worst.]

We've never had wars to my awareness, but we mostly hide from humans. Those of us lucky enough to be able to blend in do, but a lot of people can't.

I'm probably not entirely human. My coloring's a little outside of completely human norm. Like, my hair grows out blue. But I'm not sure what else is back there, in my gene pool.

There's, oh, thousands of sentient species across the galaxy. Some of them can easily have kids together, some can't.

I think for most of the locals the Sleeper distinction mostly overrides anything else.

They've harmed people I cared about, though those were humans. There's just a constant fear among people like me that humans are going to find us and experiment on us.

You're not alone. I'm an android and I've always been open about my identity because it's important to me.

As for safety, I think we're all roughly equal because generally what matters most is our identities as Sleepers. You might still encounter some prejudice unrelated to being a Sleeper, that just seems to be something humans universally excel at when they're the dominant species. But should you ever require assistance, there are many of us who would help you.

I am not human, nor can I be mistaken for one. As others have written, this is less remarkable here than my being a Sleeper.

Yeah, I am. There's a decent population of us who aren't human, but we hide. We tend to spread out to avoid attention, or live in places where humans don't.

I look human on the surface, but it's never been something I really talked about except to the people I was closest to.

But I get your fear about mad scientists. I mean, my dad was killed because of what I am and I've been told on multiple occasions that being taken apart piece by piece is what would happen if anyone found out.

i was worried about that too when i first got here since back home humans hunted sea folk with harpoons, but no one here seems to care if people aren't human
