I'm just wondering... who here is not human? You don't need to tell me who you are if you don't want to, but I just want to get a sense for how many people who are not human are here.

I can't be the only one.

And a second question: is it safe for those who are not human here? I mean, I am definitely not like one of those beast things and I have no plans of attacking people. But human-dominated places tend to be somewhat unsafe for us.

And if you are some kind of mad scientist type reading this? Fuck off. We don't need people like you on our asses.

How'd an afterlife entity make friends with someone who wasn't dead yet?

Yeah. She was dead, then I went back in time and undid it. That was the first point of departure - though I did get clearance for those!

... Huh. So you can reverse death if you want?

Not really.
I mean, in theory, sure. But that's the only time it was ever done, so it's very far from standard. Had to go through this whole challenge with the Judge, and it was actually based on a larger legal argument.
And it worked because the afterlife timeline and the Earth ones don't line up, so getting back to the point they died was easy. I can't just look at a dead person here and go "stop being dead".

Yeah. We're physical beings so we can get killed and leave behind corpses and everything. Some of the other yokai are more spiritual beings and don't really die the same way. They can fade away if they don't have enough energy but they get that in various ways.

Not my species, though. And if there were people who knew we existed they could uh... well. Let's just say we leave behind things that could be used for supernatural means and not get into the gory details.

That sucks.

I'm immortal, pretty much. We can get retired - not really dying, but about as close as we get - but that's a sort of public execution situation. Not likely to just happen.

Though I don't think I'd like being truly immortal. Seems like you'd get bored and go crazy from watching people you care about die. Though I guess if they're already dead you can hang with them forever.
