I'm just wondering... who here is not human? You don't need to tell me who you are if you don't want to, but I just want to get a sense for how many people who are not human are here.

And a second question: is it safe for those who are not human here? I mean, I am definitely not like one of those beast things and I have no plans of attacking people. But human-dominated places tend to be somewhat unsafe for us.

[Danse has never been confronted with the idea of anything sentient predating humans, having more claim to a place than they do. Were he slightly less organic, it might prompt in his brain a loading screen or an outright crash to desktop.

I'm not sure whether you mean that more in the sense of protection or accountability, but I do. Whether they appreciate it or not.

Protection more than accountability, but the first can mean the second often as not, no? There are cultures that hold to save someone's life makes you accountable for her from there on. And why not? If not for you, she would have done nothing else in the world.

A sort of elf. In my world, we come from the lineage of dragons. And birds.

Dinosaurs may be a more familiar term for our dragons, I have learned.

I never would have thought of it that way, but I see the logic in it. I'm not sure it outweighs the drawbacks of leading people to be selective from the get-go about whose lives they save, but as I said, where I come from, we don't exactly have an excess of human beings to spare.

[Even knowing that the person he's talking to isn't human, doesn't look human, and originated from something entirely unrelated to humans, this still prompts a rather violent reorienting of his mental image. The mention of dragons and the curious female-default hypothetical brings to mind something like a deathclaw matriarch.]

I can't claim to come from any kind of lineage. I'm a lab-created synthetic. As far as I'm aware, the scientists who churned me out mean to use the likes of us as weapons and surveillance for whatever grander plan they've designed to sate their own egos.
