[Appearing on screen is one Dr. Jezebel Disraeli, who looks thoroughly irritated. He also looks mildly disheveled and sickly, somehow appearing even thinner than his normal lanky appearance. Behind him, a large dog paces and whines, glancing at his owner all the while.]

So. I surely can't be the only person in this damned place who is completely unable to eat. Or eat food, rather.

If it's not the whole town, then I assume it is those who share my blood type, since that seems to determine everything around here. Vileblood, I believe I am called.

In any event: I believe I have stumbled upon a solution for those who might be afflicted.

[With pained grimace of a smile, he holds up a set of vials in his palm.]

Arsenic. Cyanide. Strychnine. All of which are deadly poisons, and all of which seem to be the only thing I can eat without wanting to promptly pass out on the spot. I imagine anyone else afflicted will be the same, since this does seem to be the sort of sick joke we would be afflicted with.

So, if anyone is in need of a poison or two, I suppose I can assist. I have a decent supply.

Before anyone asks: yes, I do have a lot of poisons.

Yes, I study poisons and made some of them myself.

No, I have not poisoned anyone in the town.

Although, believe me, I've been tempted.

While it does sound like an interesting experiment, I admit, I lean towards believing it arbitrary. The effects we are all called upon to experience do not follow a great deal of logic or science.

At least the dream made sense for it to not make sense. I don't know what excuse this place has.

Hard to say. But I suppose I learned to accept the ludicrousness of it all when I found out people were using their blood to light things on fire.

Hah, yeah that- that'll about do it. Just...blood magic, that's a thing.

That it is. And we are to accept it, it seems, as well as such wildly varying symptoms among blood types -- all of which seem to follow the months of the calender. I suppose I would find it all impossibly absurd if not for Deerington before this.

Oh, man, agreed. Deerington really set the stage of a suspension of disbelief in this place.

It most certainly did. I wonder if anyone has ever returned to their home world with their skepticism entirely shattered by such a place.

Assuming they remembered, anyway- the only time that seemed to work was when they chose to leave the dream at the end.

I suppose that is true -- we did have quite a few returning visitors who'd forgotten their time. A pity, considering all we go through in these places.

It really is. It's not fair to lose their memories of that. I mean, yeah it means forgetting some real trauma- but you're also forgetting the people you knew along the way and when you're on the receiving end of that it...sucks.

Indeed. And in a sense, it erases a piece of ourselves -- whatever growth or change we undergo. A piece of us vanishes because everything that is created from such memories is gone.

Hmm- the people we know who helped or hurt us along the way, they're...well they're just a part of who we are, right? They- they shape how we grow. Good or bad.

That they do, don't they. We are all built by the events and the people of our lives, past and present. Erasing them is simply wiping out a foundation stone of ourselves.
