Okay, this is probably the dumbest question ever, but what stupid things do you miss from home?

Personally, I miss 'Doomsday Preppers' the most. I usually don't like reality TV, but that show is funny as hell. All of those people buying out Costco and building bunkers and assembling arsenals of guns which would make Neo go 'yeah, I think you have enough,' 'cause they thought the government or aliens or Captain Trips or the Illuminati were out to get them.

This one lady was coating eggs in mineral oil 'cause she said that would make the eggs stay fresh for a year. And she had literally dozens of cartons of eggs all covered with mineral oil. This other one accidentally shot his own thumb off while showing his little kids how to handle guns safely. That was hilarious.

Also, Dorothea left me a kitten last month. A normal kitten, not a batcat. I'm kind of not sure what to name her, but I know I'd like to stick to the whole insert shitty movie here plus 'mew.' I first though of going with The Mewm, but that kind of rhymes with womb and no. [she sits and thinks a moment, a crease forming between her eyes] Maybe 'Mewdemic?" Do you think that would work?

There was a plant that used to grow in my world that they do not have here. It was the most exquisite combination of firmness and stiffness as a succulent with an oil that was only barely an irritation. Perfect for bringing life to the skin in a steam room. I have never found its like in all my time in this world.

Being able to look stuff up on a regular old laptop. The Omnis are great, don't get me wrong. Super versatile and everything, but it's not the same.

Plus, okay, given the whole... everything at the Archives, a good old fashioned card catalogue.

Definitely not the same. Googling for some obscure image was a lot easier when you could keep going and tweak the keywords as you go.

Oh my God, I know. I would kill for a good, old-fashioned card catalogue like I had as a kid.

There was always someone higher up you could push some problems onto. Here, it's just us.

Yeah. It was like, a big thing. Usually crazy Christian nutjobs who were positive that, I dunno, Obama was the antichrist. They'd have drills, like what if you see an injured person in the road. The one couple tried to stop and help, but some bro of theirs said not to 'cause they could be playing hurt and the eeeeeeeeevil government might be out to steal their shit.

I miss hanging around the Limsa Lominsa aetheryte plaza and hearing the bawdy conversations people are having. Not - I'm not a creep or something, it's just sort of... part of the culture there? It's a reminder that things are normal and people are just... people.

I also miss my old room. It... had what you'd probably call a video? A huge picture in a frame that moved a little bit. It was of the Azim Steppe, so even when I couldn't be there I could still fall asleep to those wide plains.

[Lexi chuckles] No need to worry, I'd do the same thing to the other kids I went to high school with. Sit by myself, but close enough to hear the major gossip. It's addictive, like a telenovela in real life.
