[Maul usually only posted once to the network per month, so the fact there was a second post from him and so soon after the first might have been cause for alarm, except he didn't look at all serious. He had a rolled scroll with him. After seeing Savage post on the network, he'd felt it was time to take action.]
It has come to my attention that my little brother Savage is going to be without a date for the second year in a row here in Trench as Valentine's Day approaches. This is unacceptable, so I am rectifying the situation by finding him one. To that end, I have complied a list of his traits for those of you who have not had the pleasure of getting to know him well.
[Then he unrolled the scroll. Yep, Maul had written down a numbered list of all his brother's good qualities.]
Item one: He's tall. Ridiculously so. Which is not pertinent to those of you who are also tall, but for the short ones in this city, it is always good to have someone who can get things off the top shelf and step on those who oppose you.
Item two: He's extremely loyal. It takes him a very long time to open up to you and learn to trust, but once he does, you will have his trust for life. You can't ask for someone who will stick by your side for a longer period of time than he will.
Item three: He's very caring. Related to the above, he always puts himself last and so he'll make sure all your needs are met first. Indeed, sometimes it can be hard to get him to take care of himself even when he needs to.
Item four: He comes with a very cute pet named Ruin who is a rathtar he will gladly show off to you if you come over to visit.
Item five: He is a decent fighter. Considering the perilous nature of this city, it's useful to have someone who knows how to wield a lightsaber or who can gore an opponent to death with his horns on your side. Do keep in mind he may challenge you to a battle in order to start proper Nightbrother courtship, so you may want to bring weapons on your first date.
Item six: He's good-looking. I will accept no arguments on this fact simply because some of you are used to human-centric worlds. Don't be speciesist. The proof speaks for itself.
[He held up a sketch he'd put down next to this item on the scroll to prove his point.]
Item seven: He's good at hunting. When this place eventually collapses into dust, there will be little food left, so it will help to have someone who can track down and kill game for you to eat. Not to mention there might be lean months as it is for one reason or another.
Item eight: He is family-oriented. He is very good with kits and I'm sure wouldn't mind having five or six of his own down the line if the relationship progresses that far.
[He rolled the scroll back up.]
I will now take applicants to be vetted by me first before I set you up with him. Do keep in mind if any of you break his hearts, I will be forced to break you in return, so be kind to him. Go out for a nice dinner or hunt in the woods or have a good sparring match and this will all go according to plan.
[.......Stick around long enough on this post and one might have the pleasure of seeing Savage toss Maul through a wall for trying to set him up on a date.]

[Nope. He wasn’t going to let go of this at all.
Upon hearing Savage’s past on Dathomir, Maul’s eyes softened up. It was a stark reminder of how different their lives had been and what might have waited for Maul had he remained on Dathomir. He came over to his little brother and put a gentle hand on his flesh arm, his voice sounding kinder now.]
Savage, you can’t let the shadows of the past keep hanging over what is in the here and now in Trench. Those fears you had can’t touch you any longer. You should allow yourself to be open to the possibility of happiness.

[He should just shove his brother through another wall. Instead, he glowered as Maul moved up to him, but the elder Zabrak's expression kept him from making good on that want of his.
He looked aside as Maul's hand, sighing from his nose. Maul was not going to let this go he knew, but that determination was part of why he loved his brothers so much. Even if Maul was annoying right now, and he preferred not to think much to Dathomir.]
Perhaps, but... I don't think I can make anyone happy in that way.

[Maul had felt he would be forever alone, that romantic love just wasn't for him. To have found such a strong, consistent love that had lasted for years now was far more than he ever could have thought up in his wildest dreams.
Maul was stubborn but Savage could be just as bull-headed as he was much of time. It was a shared family trait. When the two of them butted heads, the two of them unable to come to an agreement was exactly what happened.]
You sell yourself too short on your emotional capability. You've made me happy.

[And for all of Maul having not being raised to adulthood in their society, he still considered his elder brother just as much a Nightbrother as he was. He still firmly believed that Maul would remain stoic and dedicated to a mate as expected, and also, he wanted his brother to continue to be happy and loved. It was as Maul deserved after such an isolated life of suffering and anger.
His eyes dropped away at the reality that he made his brother happy. It cut through some of his stubborn anger at being 'set up' as it were, and he suddenly shot an arm out to capture his brother to pull Maul in against his chest. It felt strange to hear those words from Maul despite having heard similar since he had arrived in Deerington.]
Thank you, brother. Don't forget that you were a very broken man when I found you again and you'd never known happiness for long.

[Three times in Deerington and once in Trench were quite enough for Maul. Given how many times it had happened at the hands of other Sleepers, he felt that his best bet these days was to simply keep his head down and not draw attention to himself the way he had in the past.
Maul felt his hearts warm within him as Savage pulled him into a hug. While he had definitely deserved to be tossed through a few walls for his behavior, he felt he must have been forgiven now for his meddling if Savage was willing to hug him once more.]
Yes. The lasting kind of happiness others possessed always seemed beyond me until I came to Deerington and started to learn it could be mine as well.

[It might be the Nightbrother way, but as everyone was quick to point out, they weren't on Dathomir anymore. It almost felt as if he and Maul had the opportunity to live into the old age of their Iridonia-based cousins. Though, he now had to wonder if people here could actually go old and die or if they would continually experience a kind of rebirth from the sea? That was a deep thought for the next time he was on the beach waiting for Feral.
His anger at Maul was quick to come and just as quick to settle down. He couldn't stay furious at his brother for long, and if only a few walls were victim of his brief anger, that seemed like an acceptable use of it. Now they could hug as a show that he had forgiven Maul for being an absolute pain in the ass.]
It pleases me that you've found it. After everything that has been taken from you, happiness should be yours.

[Before, Maul hadn't cared much whether he lived or died. He was just so full of pain that he didn't think that he could ever be full of any other emotions besides anger, hate, and the pain of loss that was constantly with me. Now he was here and able to live a completely different kind of life.
All was forgiven between the two of them now. Maul had gotten a just punishment for butting into his brother's life and now they'd ended up having a good talk out of it.]
And yours as well. We both deserve it.

[Now he had seen his brother develop and blossom in this place, becoming more self assured and also coveting those that were close to the elder Zabrak. As Mother Talzin intended, Maul was the best of them in all ways. He wondered what kind of relationship, if any, Maul and Talzin would have in a place like this without the other Sisters or constraints of keeping their planet safe from invaders.
He made a noise in his throat, but he also knew better than to contest the point too. If he did, there would be other posts about his 'love life' and trying to set him up for dates, which was what he wanted to avoid.]
I'll just follow in your footsteps a bit slower than you. That's how things have always worked for us.
