I was human as well, till I was exposed to at least one and apparently two mutagenic pathogens which altered my very being. I take it you had a similar experience?

Just died. Still had things to do so it didn't take.

Wanted revenge.

Those who die where I come from always have a chance to linger with unfinished business or resentful energy. The word we use is "ghosts" but it's a kind of demonic cultivation, to follow that path and become stronger. Some ghosts are just energies, others can construct forms. I spent a while consuming other ghosts to get stronger.

But you had some sort of disease?
