[The video feed opens up to a ...very clearly staged backdrop with Dipper sitting at a desk with several things laid out around him. There's a few lit candles, a few notebooks. Pens, an ink pot with a quill that he is definitely not using but has it near by for visual interest.]
[He is very clearly hoping to be taken seriously here, so as usual, he is trying too hard. He clears his throat.]

So, hey, Trench, let's talk about ghosts for a second. While it's not super surprising this place might be crazy haunted, based on aesthetic alone, I started noticing an uptick in paranormal activity all around the city about a week ago.
[Dipper holds up a journal where he has drawn out a very nice graph of the raising ghost activity.
Behind Dipper, one of the books on his shelf starts to wiggle free. ]
I wasn't sure what it was at first, because it's not the kind of ghost activity I'm used to dealing with, but the city had apparitions wandering the streets. They weren't very solid and vanished when I touched one, leaving me super cold but otherwise unscathed.
My family couldn't see them, but they were definitely there. Anyway, it's October and I'm sure things will escalate eventually, so I wanted to share with you guys a banishing ritual I've been working on with my uncle. I'll attach it to this post.
I've also been working on-- [That book that's been easing out of the bookcase now just flings itself across the room, crashing into something off screen.]
[Dipper shrieks and whips around.]
[Waits.]
[And then sighs.]
Hey! I'm not talking about banishing you! I'm talking about in the off chance we get vengeful murder ghosts. You know that's a possibility, dude.
[The second book that was on it's way to being pulled out of the shelf stops and then eases its way back into the book shelf. Nothing to see here.]
[Dipper turns back around and continues like nothing weird happened.]
I've also been working on a public record for rituals and spells. A city spell book, of sorts that we can all use. It's only got some of mine in it for right now, but like, feel free to use it. We're still learning a lot about this place so sharing what we learn can only help us all, right?
Also, if anyone needs help with a nasty spirit, hit me up. I've got experience busting ghosts and was kind of the town expert back in Gravity Falls. Stay safe out there, guys.
[Attached to the post is a link to Dipper's Ghost Banishing ritual, as well as how to make the Silver Mirror it calls for. At the bottom there is a link to something called the Sleeper Grimoire which is a public use digital spellbook that the Sleepers have access to add to.]

So. You have a friendly book ghost now?
...Also, ignore Fern, your ghost graph is great. He just can't appreciate good data analysis.
un: alcaid; video
Yeah, that's the thing. Most ghosts, in my experience, just need help finishing what they left behind, or they just need something that left them hung up in the living world.
[He frowns thinking back on some of the ghosts from Gravity Falls.]
Sometimes that thing is dangerous, and sometimes they just can't be reasoned with, so it's good to have a backup plan.
[Ah yes, and about his friend from earlier, Dipper looks a little sheepish.]
Uh, something like that. Ssssoo, it turns out when you bury some traumatized Alternate Versions of your family in your backyard, the likely hood of them hanging out around the house as ghosts is pretty high. What a shock, right?
Anyway, thanks, I knew you'd appreciate it, at least.

If it is a unique ability, I wouldn't be all that surprised, since I've got kind of a history with the supernatural.

I would be happy to provide some basic exorcism rituals and rites.

Awesome. Hm, I wonder if I should add a section in the book for people who can lend services.

Are there any sort of rituals or spells that involve hitting a ghost with something really heavy?
Because I want to hit 'em really hard!
Video | UN: Alcaid
[And he hasn't needed a spell like that before, but who knows what Trench has in store for them.]
Why do you want to hit ghosts?

I lost this! I'm so sorry! Feel free to drop

This is important to note because sooner or later Dipper is definitely going to see a disembodied hand scuttling around in the background somewhere.]
Hey, hey, pardon me -- will your banishing ritual work on horrid cackling things that live in basements? Most of the nonsense in my house is rather tame, but my kids tell me they found a padlocked door behind a brick wall when they went down to look into the noise, so I'm thinking whatever that thing is has got to go.
video | un: alcaid
Uh-
[And then of course the person talks and what he says is extremely interesting. He thinks on it for a moment.]
If it's ghostly in nature, it should! Unless you've got something living down there. I haven't exactly tested it on demons, either. Have you tried communicating with it, yet?

Text | UN : Medicinal
The problem with ghosts is that the methodology to being rid of them is as unique to the reasons that bind their spirits to the mortal plane. There is no foolproof method.
However
I can offer various techniques for safeguarding oneself, and being able to track their movements for those who cannot see them.
Text | UN : Alcaid
So, if I can get together a bunch of ways to deal with them, then people might have better options when something goes bump in the night.
That sounds like a great contribution, dude. I take it you've dabbled in ghosts before.

The Sleeper Grimoire is a great idea, Dipper. I've been looking into trying some of the blood magic here - I'll add in anything I find that would be easy enough for beginners to start with too.
Video; UN: alcaid
[Okay, he beams a little from the praise. He wasn't looking for validation, but getting it is still really nice when he's used to being called a loser for his interests.]
Thanks! I'm pretty excited to see what people might come up with. It seems the magic here is really easy to work with and has a lot of applications.

Honestly, this makes me want to start exploring my own magical abilities too. Thanks for this, Dipper! I'm really impressed!

[And Luz asked a lot of questions so Dipper takes a deep breath and will start The Nerd Ramble.]
As for the spell, It's actually because this one is just a Trench-remodel of the one I used to use back in Gravity Falls! It called for anointed water and I just hunted down what might have been a close Trench Equivalent.
As for using Paleblood, well. I have easy access to it, and after some testing, it seems to work the best in rituals! Convenient!
Anyway, you definitely should so you can help me add to my book.

But I WILL make one, thanks for the suggestion. Banishing is useful but it's meant to be a last resort if you can't help the ghost in question. Some ghosts are really nice and just want to finish their business!!

[This was an important question. Oscar had learned in the time since leaving the farm that violence often wasn't the answer... But a helpful hand could be. ]
Do any of these rituals need special materials? I've got some cool things for you if you need them.
Video | Un: alcaid
[Its a very valid question! And Oscar has the right of it. Many ghosts just need a little help and understanding, and that's what they should give before resorting to an outright banishment.]
These are pretty straight forward, but I've been working on some other things. [He leans in closer to the feed as it would give him some insight on what Things Oscar is talking about.]

Yeah, he's friendly. It's kind of a long story, but he's family.
