[Vira-Lorr was in the Luminarium, getting the last transfusions to deal with her little ... problem, thanks to Riteior. It was, as always, something of a process. But the fact that it was one of the attendants that she knew through Albert was what prompted this message. She knew that he kept to himself mostly, but given his tendency to remain in the background and out of the limelight, she did want to make sure that those who knew him would be aware in advance.]

For those who have not been made aware, and were receiving treatment from Dr Adrian Winters, formerly known as Albert Wesker, he has returned to the ocean. I know that he was of assistance to a few of us through the Luminarium, and one of my research partners. So, it seemed best to make sure that you were made aware.

I don't think that he would want a great deal of fuss made in his departure. He was a curious man in his way. But, all the same, I will miss his perspective.

To those who were at all concerned? I believe I have compiled his notes and mine on the Antidote experiments, and should be able to proceed with a refined mix next month. Also, are any of you members of the Blood Ministers? I find myself in need of a physician who I can trust and, while I appreciate the people of Trench, I still have some lingering paranoia.

You and I have that hope in common. I shall miss how swift and deadly a predator he could be. It's rare to find someone like that who I have so much in common with.

You're right about that. He was cold and calculating enough that he did not hold back when he needed to fight. He could be brutally efficient when he wanted to be.

Most human beings lack that killer instinct that creatures who hunt usually possess. But after all that had happened to him, the shifts in his DNA, he was one of the few who did have that kind of instinct within.

I would say that he almost had it in spades. It's like it got sharpened and refined with every step of the process. He was just better than most at hiding it most days.

Much better than I was at any rate. Hunting with him and watching him kill was always a wonderful experience.

I believe, based upon some of the things he used to talk about? He knew that he had to operate somewhat in secret for a very long time. It was a learned trait of years of his life to be that collected.

He could be quite violent when he needed to.

Another thing he and I had in common. Coming to Deerington allowed us to become more free versions of ourselves than we were ever allowed to be before.

One of the most powerful parts of this experience is the people. For some of us, we would never have met these people before, and it can open us to the chance to see the world differently. It's precious.

Being able to surround myself with those people has been the best experience of my life. I've been able to become an entirely different person than who I was before thanks to the relationships I have formed here.

It's a fascinating side of this world. The people we know here can transform who we are in all senses. Sometimes for the worse, but usually it is a life altering and positive thing.

It's why I don't hate Trench.

Even though it is a difficult place to live, it's fathoms better than living in my own galaxy.

Let's both face it. Our respective worlds are ones filled with a certain amount of violence and horror. This place is difficult, but we've weathered enough to learn how to cope. Some worlds are just good training grounds for this place.

There are days when it's almost paradise.

Almost.

Perhaps someday it will be easier to live in. But I doubt it. The Pthumerians enjoy watching us as entertainment far too much to let us ever take it easy.

I would settle for finding a way to make it all both tolerable, and with little glimmers of joy. With that, it would feel a bit more like a home in a distant land.

A goal for one day.
