[Having only just learned how to use video on the omni, Goku's feed is a bit shaken and choppy. He's really only half visible for most of it, kind of stepping out of frame every so often because he's clearly walking. You might see some of the rolls of bread he's carrying.]

Hi ev'rybody! My name's Goku, an' my friends said that I should talk to th' network if I need help with stuff, soooo... Do we have any healers around here?? 'Cause my friend's ankle is broken but he can't heal himself 'cause it don't work like that or somethin', so I was hopin' somebody else could help him??

Oh yeah, m'also goin' around deliverin' bread for him! So if Hakkai toldja that bread's on th' way over, that's me! Goku!

So.. were you in a pretty bad fight too?

[ Because he sees that bandage on your face, Goku! Which certainly isn't as bad as a broken ankle, sure, but it's still an indication that something would have happened.

And since he isn't talking to Hakkai right now, he can fuss over the other later, and first fuss over Goku right now. ]

Huh??

[The question catches him off guard, and for a second he has this fleeting thought of "How did he know?!" He only figures it out when he reaches up to rub at his cheek and his hand brushes against the edge of the bandage. Goku's smile quickly turns sheepish and embarrassed, and the laugh he lets out has a tinge of nervousness in it.]

Uh-- Yeah, I kinda was! But it's okay, I can take it! I heal up pretty fast, too!

[And Daniel definitely doesn't need to know that he and Hakkai are responsible for all of each other's injuries. Right? Right.]

See? I'm walkin' around an' ev'rythin'! So you don't gotta worry 'bout me, 'kay?

[ Oh, Goku.

Soon you'll learn Daniel worries about everything. Ever. Not worrying simply isn't an option.

Not that he's mentioning as much out loud. Instead he just slightly nods, letting out a small affirmative noise. ]

I got it. [ Since it is at least true that Goku is capable of walking around by himself, which he wouldn't be able to do if he was terribly injured.. ] You should really be careful though. Already getting caught up in something that big so soon after arriving isn't a good thing, you know? Like I told you before, things can get really dangerous here.

[ .. okay, maybe the worried dad does show a little when he adds: ]

Even if you heal fast, getting in trouble is still a bad thing.

[Gasp! Between Hakkai and Daniel, is this going to be like Goku having parents?!]

Uhhh, I guess it kinda is. [He tilts his head to the side, looking thoughtful.] But this wasn't our fault, right?? Didn't lotsa people go kinda nuts an' start runnin' around hurtin' people?

[Surely it wasn't just them. Nahh, that would have to be a pretty incredible coincidence...]

[ Yes, Goku. You're adopted now!! ]

[ Daniel's silence is probably saying more than any answer is though. Sure, he can think of anyone else who went 'kinda nuts' as Goku is saying, but he knows that didn't have anything to do with something going on in Trench as usually..

So it makes whatever situation Goku is talking about a lot more concerning. It leaves Daniel first silent in surprise, but when he speaks up again, there's a hint of obvious worry in his tone. ]

Do you.. maybe want to talk to me about what happened? [ Sure, Goku doesn't seem too negatively effected by it, but you never know. Especially when the other acts so much like a teen despite his age, and god knows how much teenagers love to hide. ]

[GASP!! FAMILY!!]

[The longer Daniel is silent, the more nervous Goku starts to get. That's... not good, right? Were they really the only ones who went rampaging around the town? Won't that mean that if anyone saw them or heard about what went down, then they'll be able to figure out who exactly it was? Will people start to think that they're dangerous?

That's not good. Goku chews on his lip for a second.]

U-Umm... I dunno if I should.

[He likes Daniel. He doesn't want Daniel to start to hate him because of what happened.]

Why not?

[ To the man's credit, his tone is fairly gentle as he asks this. It's not like it's his first rodeo when it comes to this sort of thing, after all. His own kids definitely pulled this on him before, and he knows that it should be met with gentle understanding. ]

Is it because it's a secret?

[Goku winces visibly at the use of that word.]

Umm... Kinda? I guess?

[He hates secrets. He hates having secrets. He hates lying to cover up his secrets. So it's extremely clear that Goku's become wildly uncomfortable, fidgeting a little bit while his eyes dart around.]

...It, uh. It's kinda hard ta explain?

[ Well, it does sound hard to explain. Or vague, at the very least. Daniel can only imagine what sort of reason lies behind it. He could probably find out if he really tried - surely Hakkai would recognize his concern if he were to explain it to him, for one.

But this isn't about being nosy. So.. ]

You don't have to, if you feel like you shouldn't talk about it. [ Daniel's tone sounds gentle, and he smiles a little, trying to seem reassuring. ] Don't worry too much about it.

[ Before Goku starts feeling worse about not talking than about whatever happened! ]

I just wanted to make sure you're safe, but.. well, I guess your friends are already taking care of that, huh?

[He immediately looks relieved. And grateful. He's right back to smiling and everything, even though it's not quite the same kind of ear-to-ear grin he's given Daniel before. It looks... just a little more grown up, maybe.]

Sorry. I'll tell ya some other time, 'kay??

[Goku just doesn't want to scare you off, sir. You have a very normal life.

Then he blinks, the grin spreads, and somehow he goes right back to looking more like a kid.]

Yeah! An' since I'm feelin' better'n them, I'm tryin' ta see what's around here that'll help!

Did someone already reply to help heal?

[ Especially since apparently Hakkai can't heal himself, or Goku wouldn't be asking for help like this.. And since Hakkai is usually Daniel's to-go healer, he doesn't have anything to recommend the poor thing right now. ]

There's quite a few people who can do it here. Otherwise you might have to try and get them to the Lumenarium, there are people who can help them there for sure. [ See, Goku?

It's all okay! Daniel isn't offended, he's still just calmly trying to help. ]

[Goku nods, extremely pleased with himself and his results.]

Yeah! There's a lizard-man who makes potions that'll prob'ly help! And Sharon said that people here all heal pretty quick because we're all magic squids!

[And when he talks to Sailor Moon soon, that'll be even more!

He pauses though, looking curious.]

What's a... loomy-nary-um??

It's a hospital.

[ He'll leave the rest of what Goku says alone, considering that it only sounds ridiculous when you aren't used to this place. Especially since Daniel is well aware that him being a 'magic squid' is what healed his broken back in the first place..

Wait, hold on, scratch that thought-- ]

You know what hospitals are, right?

[ It's not even that he's asking because he thinks Goku is child-like despite his age, he's more asking because the place Goku and the others come from seems to be.. strange in some ways. ]

[Goku's head tilts, eyes big and curious. Daniel's absolutely right; He's not familiar with that word.]

Hos..pital..? I never heard o' that before. Is it someplace ya take injured people to??

[ ...

God.

What is their world even like? Them not having heard of Italy is something Daniel can take, but the idea there aren't hospitals.. No wonder Hakkai's got to have that healing power to get them by instead! ]

Yeah. [ At least Goku seems to get what it is just by context. Atta, boy. Daniel's proud. ] There's people there who can help you. They know how to treat all sorts of things and make people better.

[ Usually Daniel wouldn't trust doctors in such a weird place, but.. well, they've proven before they really can get stuff done, so there's no hesitation in recommending it. ]

[His head tilts the other way, and for a second his expression remains pretty blank... And then suddenly it's like a light bulb turns on over his head.]

Oh!! So like-- like a clinic?? With doctors an' stuff??

[He looks pleased to have made this connection. They may not have hospitals where he is, and really whether that's because their world just doesn't have them as a concept or just because they're always out in the boonies is anyone's guess, but he knows what doctors are and he knows that doctors usually run clinics. Usually out of their own homes, though, and certainly not on the scale that Daniel's familiar with.]

[ Okay, at least that's better. Daniel was kind of fearing there was no medical help at all where they come from..

Which wouldn't really surprise him in the sense that it fits the way they tend to act, even if the idea of a world like that existing somewhere out there is still way too wild for Daniel. ]

Yeah, like that. But bigger. [ A whole lot bigger. Daniel kind of wonders if Goku is ready for that, but on the other hand, he'd probably have to bring Hakkai along since he's the injured party here.. which would probably make it okay. Hakkai can handle it. ] If you go to the Lumenwood district, you'll see it right away. It's a huge building. They also have a lantern there, so you can get there easily.

[ You know, since walking with a broken ankle isn't exactly ideal. ]

Huge building...???

[Goku kind of gapes for a second. A huge building all for doctors? It sounds so fancy to him. There are already so many buildings around here that are taller than what he's used to. He's genuinely imagining a place that stretches all the way up into the sky.]

Whoooaaa!! An' it's all just for doctors ta help injured people?! An' there's more'n one doctor?!?

[MIND BLOWN.]

[ Daniel can't hold back a laugh - it spills right out. ]

Yes, both of those things are absolutely right.

[ The things Goku can get amused about.. Is it any wonder that Daniel thought he was a kid at first, and that even now it's kind of hard to not see him as one? He acts exactly like the teenagers Daniel teaches. ]

Though you might be one of the only people to get this excited about hospitals.

Whhoooooaaaaaa...

[His little monkey brain cannot comprehend this level of medical competence. Where he's from, people who get too sick or too injured just end up dying and that's that. If there was no real clinic in the town or village, no one with some medical knowledge or a magic healing ability of some kind, then the only thing people could do was pray and hope a benevolent god answered them. The idea that people could just be brought to a big building full of doctors to take care of them?? That's wild.

But then Daniel has to go and call him out, and his face flushes slightly in embarrassment.]

I-- I'm not excited! I just- I never heard o' nothin' like that before... It sounds like a real good place ta have around, that's all! An' since there's one here, then- then that's super helpful!

Hey, hey, don't worry!

[ Daniel knows when to not take teasing too far, okay.

.. he usually does, anyway. Right now is one of those moments, since he puts his hands up as if to pacify Goku, letting out a hearty, but sweet laugh. ]

It's fine to get excited about it if it's something you've never seen before. God knows I've seen so many things here that were completely new to me as well. [ So many.. Though mostly not good ones, so-- ] Better to have new things you can get excited about than new things you'd just dread, yeah?

[He still looks a little embarrassed, thumbing at his nose while his shoulders sag a little in relief. Daniel makes a good point, and it's not like Goku has much ability to argue it, but he's still in the middle of letting that embarrassment flush out of his system.]

Yeah... Yeah, I- I guess so.

[He even nods a little, like he's just reaffirming what's been said to himself.]

A-An' since things get pretty crazy around here, it's good t'know there's a place ta go to if somethin' happens, right??
