If you knew Manabu Yuuki, he was killed. I imagine he won't be back for at least a few weeks or so. His corruption had gotten the better of him, so I made sure his death was quick and painless.

Heh. You know well that I'm a Fatui Harbinger. The number of lives I've ended have long since made me numb to the harsh realities of life and death.

[That statement is mostly true. But he's been through a lot since he left Teyvat- Manabu's death stung far more than he'd ever admit to, to his own surprise.]

What we are or what we were back home matters little in this place, does it not? Whatever we have been through will certainly give us an edge. But what we are here and what those around us mean to us here is the ultimate deciding factor.

[It's hard not to bite back at Zhongli given that he was still angry with him over the stunt he'd pulled on him back in Liyue. Not that Trench has even given the two men the chance to even address it yet.]

I'll keep that in mind. Thank you for the offer, but I assure you that I'm just fine. Death is not permanent in this place; he'll be back in a matter of days to weeks. Knowing that, the burden it brings is alleviated somewhat.

This place operates in strange ways. You say he is to be brought back again? Is nothing to change with the person then? Just as we are reborn upon arrival here with new blood and powers, does dying bring forth any strange effects onto our persons?

[ Such a strange thing to think about. But as an archon, most gods don't just disappear once they die. They leave behind lingering effects throughout the land. Was this place similar in those regards he wonders. ]

I'm not entirely sure of all the effects of it. I've only known one person who died so far, and after a time he didn't see to be suffering from any adverse effects.

That isn't to say that something isn't happening to us every time we die. It may not be noticeable yet.

[He remembered in the dream, hearing about people who would change over time the more they died. But here...they hadn't died enough yet to find out.]
