[His transmission is short. He sits at home, holding his Omni up in front of him while his fox omen sits in his lap, curled up. Possibly one of the few times it wasn't causing all sorts of chaos.]

Well, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I figured there would be at least a handful of you who would like to know.

[He pauses for only a moment.]

If you knew Manabu Yuuki, he was killed. I imagine he won't be back for at least a few weeks or so. His corruption had gotten the better of him, so I made sure his death was quick and painless.

Succumbed to his own loneliness. [He doesn't like the sound of that. Something that he fears would have happened to him had it not been for-- never mind.]

I'm sorry that it came to that. [To Murder that is. If this thing that was once Manabu had attacked him, was it justified? Could murder be justified? Something to think about, he supposes.] I never saw whatever was haunting him when we spoke. He seemed all right.

[But he doesn't know him well enough to really say that, now does he?]

Oh, you needn't worry about me. My background involves slaying powerful foes, so in that sense, you could say it was just any other day for me.

[The way he puts it is cold, but it's the truth- even though the means behind how it all came to be didn't sit well with him, especially since he considers Manabu a friend.]

If I were you, I would be on guard that you don't share the same fate.

[And if he did, Childe would have no problem taking care of that too.]

I don't assume to know what it's like, but I can't imagine it's easy knowing that it's a friend.

[Though if this is simply something he's used to based on where he's from, Ryunosuke could understand in a way why he seemed so cold about it.]

I appreciate the your candor. What do you think can prevent this sort of thing?

[Was there a way to stop such a transformation?]

The treatment is simple enough- just make sure you get to a person who's suffering from this curse and try to talk them through it. It seems to be the most effective method.

[In his opinion, it's a very boring way of dealing with it, but necessary.]

Now, I'm not saying that it will one hundred percent work, but if you're looking for prevention that's your best shot. And if someone fails, then I'll be just around the corner to clean it up.

Of course. That explains quite a bit of my own experience. Again, I appreciate you taking the time to explain a way to prevent one from succumbing to their loneliness. I'm sure it will come in handy.

[That explains why he wasn't... something else currently. He wasn't a monster tearing through the streets of Trench, thank goodness. He wouldn't know what to do with himself if he hurt someone.

Though, there is something that Childe said earlier that he has to go back to.]

You said he wouldn't be back for a few weeks, why is that? Are you suggesting that death isn't permanent?

[He's new, forgive him for asking so many questions.]

[He nods back to Ryunosuke.]

That's exactly what it means. We already had someone murdered last month- he was back in a number of days. How that process plays out, I'm not sure. You'll have to ask them yourself.

But how is that possible-?

[He supposes he will have to ask once Manabu is back. It's strange to think that he wouldn't be dead for long, but what did this all mean?]

Sorry, I've just... never thought death could be impermanent. The incident a month ago, is that how you found out?

[Ryunosuke's going to have to tread more carefully here, isn't he?]

[He can't blame Ryunosuke for the shock. He was shocked too, but he was excited about how wonderful that alone was. Think of the endless battles you could have!]

That's how we found out about it here. It's not so uncommon to those who arrived here from the dream world. Death was impermanent there too, but came at a cost.

You're not the first person to tell me about the dream world. Could you tell me more about it?

[This dream world piques his curiosity more than it probably should. Was he opening a door that couldn't be closed? Was there anything to learn about this dream world that could help him here?]

Do you think there is a cost to dying here?

[That was the question now wasn't it? What was the cost of dying in this world?]

To answer one question, I wouldn't be surprised to find out that dying came at a cost here as well. But we haven't seen the results of that yet.

[His thumb finds his chin. There's so much about the dream world that even he didn't know, not having been there any more than six months, give or take.]

I can tell you the little I do know about it. It was a place of unspeakable horrors- even the deepest depths of your soul wasn't safe. There are others here that have been there far longer than me, who know more.

That's fair enough. I hope Manabu will be okay once he returns.

[Hopefully, if there was a cost, they'd find out sooner rather than later.

This dream world sounded more dangerous if his soul wasn't safe. But something tells him that he wasn't so safe here as well.]

I understand. If I meet someone who knows more I hope they don't mind a few more questions about it. Could you tell me if these two worlds are connected at all? The dream world and this one, that is.

[That's something he can answer. He nods back to Ryunosuke.]

The dream was a creation of another Pthumerian, a little girl named Sodder who had already died long before any of us arrived. And given that when we arrive on the shore here with the people of Trench waiting along the shore to greet us, and are still known as Sleepers, well...that tells me that both worlds were very much connected, somehow.

Thank you, I do appreciate your time.

[He sighs, rubbing the back of his head.]

I'm still getting used to Trench, as it were. [A pause, before he looks at the camera.] Is there anything we can do but wait for his return?

I'm afraid not. As it stands, Manabu is currently a corpse, so now we just have to wait. I don't know of any methods that can speed up this process.

[And if he did, he'd be more than eager to do it.]

[convene]

I almost hate to ask this. [But he's going to anyway.] What happened to his corpse?

It's here with me. I've tried to ice the body as best I can. We still don't really know if there will be any damage to the person if left unattended.

[convene]

I suppose that's a fair point. [He guesses! This was an entire new realm of strange to him.] How are you getting ice for the body? Slowing down decomposition sounds like it would be challenging here.
