[ Oh hello, it's your friendly neighborhood egyptologist slash mummy hunter tuning in. Evelyn's hair is windswept and framing her face, cheeks pink from what is prooobably either whiskey or wine. She's tired of visions and migraines and soul crushing loneliness and has thrown herself into re-establishing her shop.

She's sat at one of the little tables in the back by the fireplace, the culprit of her pink cheeked, rosy glow sat on the table next to her. She's got her little device propped up against a book to properly frame her. ]

Hello, fellow residents. I just wanted to let you know that my bookshop, Spellbound Book Co., is open once more. By all means, please come in any time, have a look around.

[ She leans back in her chair, a little roughly, picks up her tumbler - the question is answered, it's whatever passes for whiskey - and smiles. ]

Who else has a business here? Let's all discuss our business endeavors, feel free to chat amongst yourselves.

[ Is she drunk? Maybe a little. ]

[ Laurel doesn't answer right away, taking some time to look at the woman in the video. She notes the tumbler and the flush in her cheeks, recalling a time when she was like that. Rather than expressing an outright concern for someone she didn't know, she decides to ask Evelyn about the shop. ]

Hi, there. I'm new so I don't have a business here. The only thing I could think of doing is setting up a legal advice clinic, but I don't think there's a need for it.

[ Getting slightly off track. ]

I would love to come and visit your bookshop. Can you please tell me where it is? Thanks.

[egyptologist]

It seems like it...might be a more difficult avenue to choose, but you never know. There seems to be always someone getting in trouble.

[ But, you know. It is a strange town, and people are crazy. ]

Of course -- It's in Willful Machine, can't miss it. Big hanging sign out front.

[lightinside]

I'm used to getting people out of trouble. [Not just the legal kind.] Like I said to someone before, my skills might just have to transfer elsewhere.

[ She has yet to see the crazy. ]

Willful Machine? I haven't been there yet. [ There's a smile. ] My name is Laurel by the way. What's yours?

[egyptologist]

There's quite a few shops and stalls here, and it seems very well protected.

I'm Evelyn, it's a pleasure to meet you.

[lightinside]

Nice to meet you too, Evelyn.

Do you specialise in any particular kind of books or do you have all kinds?

[egyptologist]

I have a bit of everything, honestly. Back in Deerington, I had mostly fiction and non, a couple spellbooks here and there.

Now, I'm trying to get my hand son everything I can - whatever benefits the people of Trench.

[lightinside]

That's great. I'm glad to hear it. If I happen to come across any books here, would you like them?

[Then something occurs to her.]

Oh, and if you ever put out any legal books in your store, I'd be interested.

[egyptologist]

Oh, yes - absolutely! That would be wonderful.

[ She's always happy to have more, both at the shop and in her home. ]

You're more than welcome to take a look. I really do end up with all sorts of things.

[lightinside]

I'm used to spending hours in the law library, so I don't mind taking the time to look in your store.

[ If she can learn something new then it will be worth it. ]

Until you kick me out of course!

[egyptologist]

[ laugh! ]

Good gracious, no kicking out here. It makes me happy when people are so engrossed that they lose track of time. It's almost flattering, you know?

[lightinside]

Okay, that is good to know. I'm glad it makes you happy.

[ She gives her a smile. ]

Did you own a book store back home?

[egyptologist]

I didn't, no. But I was a scholar, so it seemed a fitting thing to do in Deerington, and now here.

[lightinside]

Makes sense to me. Putting the skills you have to good use. [ Hoping to find that for herself. ] What did you specialise in?

[egyptologist]

Yes, precisely my thinking. [ gives her something to do, at any rate. ]

Ah -- Egyptology, actually.

[lightinside]

Oh, that's neat. Though it's a subject I know very little about.

They didn't really teach it at my school.
