[ Oh hello, it's your friendly neighborhood egyptologist slash mummy hunter tuning in. Evelyn's hair is windswept and framing her face, cheeks pink from what is prooobably either whiskey or wine. She's tired of visions and migraines and soul crushing loneliness and has thrown herself into re-establishing her shop.

She's sat at one of the little tables in the back by the fireplace, the culprit of her pink cheeked, rosy glow sat on the table next to her. She's got her little device propped up against a book to properly frame her. ]

Hello, fellow residents. I just wanted to let you know that my bookshop, Spellbound Book Co., is open once more. By all means, please come in any time, have a look around.

[ She leans back in her chair, a little roughly, picks up her tumbler - the question is answered, it's whatever passes for whiskey - and smiles. ]

Who else has a business here? Let's all discuss our business endeavors, feel free to chat amongst yourselves.

[ Is she drunk? Maybe a little. ]

[ Laurel doesn't answer right away, taking some time to look at the woman in the video. She notes the tumbler and the flush in her cheeks, recalling a time when she was like that. Rather than expressing an outright concern for someone she didn't know, she decides to ask Evelyn about the shop. ]

Hi, there. I'm new so I don't have a business here. The only thing I could think of doing is setting up a legal advice clinic, but I don't think there's a need for it.

[ Getting slightly off track. ]

I would love to come and visit your bookshop. Can you please tell me where it is? Thanks.

It seems like it...might be a more difficult avenue to choose, but you never know. There seems to be always someone getting in trouble.

[ But, you know. It is a strange town, and people are crazy. ]

I'm used to getting people out of trouble. [Not just the legal kind.] Like I said to someone before, my skills might just have to transfer elsewhere.

[ She has yet to see the crazy. ]

Mmm, I've opened up a place in the Cellar Door for mystical consultations and fortune reading. It's gotten a few locals and one or two others so far.

What sorts of books do you traffic in?

[egyptologist]

Fortune reading? Are you a paleblood as well?

All kinds, really - history, fiction, everything you can think of.

Seems the stories of some of our fellow Sleepers even show up on occasion, as well.

I am, though the gift to see the future was one that existed long before. It's a ... knack of my people, you might say, though I was more gifted than some in it. The blood, though, has extended it. I get visions when I touch objects lately.

[A thin chuckle.]

Do they now? well, that's at least a familiar feeling. Books with little snippets of our worlds appearing out of normal. Almost feels like before, though I can't say I'm surprised.

Still, it's nice to learn more about each others' worlds.

Some do, some don't. I do believe there are other options, if you aren't looking to open a store.

I take it that isn't something you're interested in, then?

[ it might just be the rustic nature of the books spines that he sees behind her, but it resonates with a nostalgia that almost makes him feel physically sick - which is impossible, since he can't get physically unwell at all without his body bouncing back right away. immortality was such a fucking motherfucker sometimes.

You more interested in spells, or the books they come in?

A bit of both at this point, if I'm being honest. When I was younger, I didn't believe in that sort of thing, but these days, well.

I have to say, I have a...vested interest in both.

Is this a magic bookshop or a regular bookshop with a magical name?

[ Not that Loki's magic is working in this place, but perhaps the right book could help him figure out why. ]

A bit of both, frankly. At one point, it was history, fiction -- but thee days, I find I'm rather interesting in all of the above.

I have been in search of books since my arrival. May I ask, do you carry any on local flora and fungi, as well as medicinal practices of this world?

I do, actually! I have a whole section on just such a thing, if you'd like to come take a look.

Once I realized mushrooms were such a commodity, I made sure to stock the shelves with the information that was available.
