[ Oh hello, it's your friendly neighborhood egyptologist slash mummy hunter tuning in. Evelyn's hair is windswept and framing her face, cheeks pink from what is prooobably either whiskey or wine. She's tired of visions and migraines and soul crushing loneliness and has thrown herself into re-establishing her shop.

She's sat at one of the little tables in the back by the fireplace, the culprit of her pink cheeked, rosy glow sat on the table next to her. She's got her little device propped up against a book to properly frame her. ]

Hello, fellow residents. I just wanted to let you know that my bookshop, Spellbound Book Co., is open once more. By all means, please come in any time, have a look around.

[ She leans back in her chair, a little roughly, picks up her tumbler - the question is answered, it's whatever passes for whiskey - and smiles. ]

Who else has a business here? Let's all discuss our business endeavors, feel free to chat amongst yourselves.

[ Is she drunk? Maybe a little. ]

Mmm, I've opened up a place in the Cellar Door for mystical consultations and fortune reading. It's gotten a few locals and one or two others so far.

What sorts of books do you traffic in?

[egyptologist]

Fortune reading? Are you a paleblood as well?

All kinds, really - history, fiction, everything you can think of.

Seems the stories of some of our fellow Sleepers even show up on occasion, as well.

[onerthes]

I am, though the gift to see the future was one that existed long before. It's a ... knack of my people, you might say, though I was more gifted than some in it. The blood, though, has extended it. I get visions when I touch objects lately.

[A thin chuckle.]

Do they now? well, that's at least a familiar feeling. Books with little snippets of our worlds appearing out of normal. Almost feels like before, though I can't say I'm surprised.

Still, it's nice to learn more about each others' worlds.

[egyptologist]

I admit, I've been having visions as well. It isn't something I'm used to.

[ Yes, not everyone is pleased to have their book show up, but mercifully it doesn't happen all that often. ]

I think so, too. It's fascinating - reading something, wondering if it really is real, some place in time.

[onerthes]

Even when they are natural to your species, you never truly get used to them. They can be quite ... invasive at times after all. You have my sympathies there.

[Ahem]

I did find some of the works of fiction curious when we were in the nightmare, wondering if the stories were in fact real events told through the narration of the dream. I still wonder in a few cases.

[egyptologist]

It isn't the first time I've had them, but...the others, they were more...

Glimpses into the past, I suppose.

[ it's complicated. ]

It's entirely possible they were. It's hard to say, especially with the way things were, there.

[onerthes]

Ah, intriguing. My people's vision does not look backwards, other than as our own memories. Our gaze is forced resolutely forward, to the possibilities of the future. Were these visions of events gone now?

[Admittedly, her psychometry could look back, but it was highly specific how that worked.]

Agreed. Our worlds were and are inextricably linked in their own way, but the 'how' of it can be quite the challenge to determine. And, in the end, more of a curiosity since we tend to have more immediate concerns.

Oh, my apologies. My name is Vira-Lorr. I don't think we were ever properly introduced.

[egyptologist]

The ones I was seeing at home were glimpses into the past...my past, I suppose. A life I'd lived before, reincarnation. Here, though - it's little snippets of the future, of things that have yet to pass. It's a little fuzzy though, they're never very clear.

[ Not yet, anyway. ]

OH! I'm familiar with the concept, yes. My world did not have teachings of reincarnation, but I've encountered them since. It's honestly a little fascinating, to live out one's life so many times in that way. So in a way, it's like an ancient, shared memory?

[She smiled.]

Think nothing of it. It's a pleasure. I want to say I saw you in the dream, but things were so crazy by then I never had the chance to speak before.

[egyptologist]

Yes, something like that, I suppose. [ Close enough, anyway. ]

I was there, but you're right - it was always one thing after another. I couldn't have hoped to have met everyone. You do look familiar though.

[onerthes]

I tended to be a bit visible towards the end. But it's good that we have a chance to meet now. Have you settled in well, all things considered?
