video; un egyptologist - evening of 19 October
[ Oh hello, it's your friendly neighborhood egyptologist slash mummy hunter tuning in. Evelyn's hair is windswept and framing her face, cheeks pink from what is prooobably either whiskey or wine. She's tired of visions and migraines and soul crushing loneliness and has thrown herself into re-establishing her shop.
She's sat at one of the little tables in the back by the fireplace, the culprit of her pink cheeked, rosy glow sat on the table next to her. She's got her little device propped up against a book to properly frame her. ]
Hello, fellow residents. I just wanted to let you know that my bookshop, Spellbound Book Co., is open once more. By all means, please come in any time, have a look around.
[ She leans back in her chair, a little roughly, picks up her tumbler - the question is answered, it's whatever passes for whiskey - and smiles. ]
Who else has a business here? Let's all discuss our business endeavors, feel free to chat amongst yourselves.
[ Is she drunk? Maybe a little. ]

[It's not his usual thing but why not change it up a bit, right?]
Will you put it on hold for me? I'll come and get it in the morning after I feed my ladies.
no subject
Oh, yes, of course, I'll--
What? Feed your...what?

He is, in fact, laying in a big ass pile of hay in what looks like a barn and around him is a whole damn flock of chickens.]
Evelyn, meet my ladies. Ladies, this is Evelyn.
[You might get a cluck or two from the nearest hen (a fancy red one with fluffy feet that Raleigh literally adores), interested in the big shiny stone he's interacting with.]

Well, aren't they just precious. How lovely!
[ Her omen will appear shortly though, eyeing that feed and those birds with keen interest. Yum. Snacky snacks. ]

Yeah.. yeah, they are. I've never had chickens before. It's kinda nuts. We weren't really allowed pets growing up.

We had a cat, but she was a mean little shit that bit everyone who came close.
I adored her.

She sounds great. We moved around too much to have one but it never stopped us from begging or bringin' home strays.
What was her name?
no subject
Muffin. Entirely unoriginal, but my mother named her.

And besides, food names are fun. My raccoon is named Spaghetti.

I didn't realize they could be tamed - that's lovely.
