[It had been nearly a week, and Oscar was becoming worried.
Lessons he has learned on the other side of the Dream had taught him that sitting in the worry and letting it overcome him did no one any good-- least of all himself. Knowing this, Oscar tentatively turned on the Audio function of his new device and, with an obvious case of awkward nerves, started talking.]
Um... Hi.
I'm Oscar Pine and... I'm sure some of you know me already, but some of you don't and that's okay.
There was just a couple of things I wanted to say.
First: I know that things have been stressful lately and that we all need something to do, so I'm willing to teach people how to garden if they want a hobby that lasts a little longer than baking all the time. I'm a farmhand... And I did the baking thing. Growing and taking care of your own vegetables helps a little more, for a longer time.
And-- you can share your extra zucchini with your friends and loved ones. Isn't that cool?
I managed to bring along some seeds to get started. Just... Contact me if you're interested.
... and thanks, Mako, for the idea.
Second: is anyone else having trouble sleeping since they got here? I know being nervous makes sleeping hard, but this feels different. Anyone have any ideas about why this is happening, or how to help?
Last: ... I don't know about everyone else, but there's still some people I'm looking for that haven't come ashore yet. Can people just...chime in to let everyone know that they're safe? And let us know if there's anyone else you're looking for?
Maybe we can make everything a little easier if we work together. I don't know...
I'm just kinda worried, and some of you all probably are too.

[With Vyng's quick recovery, Oscar didn't question it further. People made mistakes with word choice all the time-- it was normal.
Having mixed the portioned out powder with the milk while he spoke, Oscar quickly topped off his creations with a jaunty paper straw per glass and brought the strawberry milk over to share with Vyng. The drink was violently pink with a bubbly foam at the top-- but, it was made for little people who liked aggressively bright colors with their food.]
Here. It's strawberry milk!
And... thanks for bringing all this with such short notice. It sounds like it'll be a big help.

[That is some seriously pink milk — definitely brighter than if you'd blended some strawberries into it. In the back of his mind, he can't help but wonder what kind of dyes you'd have to add to create such a vivid color. But Vyng will try most things once, so...here goes!
Without another word, he takes a pull from the straw, and then smack his lips as he tries to suss out the flavors. Whatever this is, it lacks the usual sourness you'd expect from strawberries.]
Hm. [Smack smack smack.] ...Kind of reminds me of a cheap ice cream I had once. Very sugary. But not bad! Our Billie would like it, for sure.

[Not that he minded his afternoon naps in Ozpin's office, but it was hard getting anything done. By nature, he was not a night time person. Although... perhaps that was changing in Trench.
After all-- he was able to turn into an owl.]
You're right! Cheap ice cream really is this sweet!
[And his smile broadened at the memory of getting cheap ice cream to soothe their weary hearts on the long road to Atlas. He had been busy recollecting the rest of their team-- the latter parts of team RWBY and the entirety of team JNR-- when the mention of a new name caught his attention.]
...Who's Billie? He must have good taste if he likes this kinda stuff!

Praise be the Pthumerians for granting us this boon.
[That last assertion from the boy draws a short laugh from Vyng, though.]
To be fair, he'll eat anything. But Billie's our buddy and our kid. Our buddy-kid.

Oscar stifled a smirk at the teasing lift of Vyng's pinky, but there was no hiding his giggle at the description of Billie.]
Buddy-kid? That's a new one-- and really cool!
[He beamed.]
Found family really is the thing that unites all of us, and it's really cool.

[Even if he and Tuck end up unwittingly adopting another kid, they'll never replace Billo in their hearts.]
Yeah. [Vyng's expression grows softer.] You're right about that, pal...
[He never expected to have a family of his own, let alone that he'd just bumble his way into one. In a town of weirdos, misfits and fuck-ups, though, found family is like air — everywhere, in many forms, and necessary to thrive.]
