I don't know how many of you out there remember a man named Kurt Wagner. He used to talk about places like this as a sort of second chance. Doesn't necessarily mean anything we do here impacts who we are back where we come from; it's just an easy space to rewrite ourselves if we didn't like how the story was unfolding before.
I wasn't really looking to start a blank page. Had it pretty good before. Not before-before, but in the place before this. I guess all that's gone now. Eventually, you've got to admit that some things just aren't coming back.
Anyway, that's not what this is about. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't mind reminiscing a bit. But I'd rather do it face to face over a bottle of something. Maybe give a toast to the people who found their way back out. I hope they don't remember a second of it.
Point is I've always got a better idea of who I am when I'm being useful, so I guess it's well past time I try that out. It's a variety of stuff life's let me hone my skills at, needs must and all. But if there's something else you need doing, get in contact and I'll see what I can do for you.

Depends on the kind of hair, I guess. The man I mentioned was covered head to toe in fur. That was a little different. But it goes past hair alone. Feather preening, hoof trimming, carapace waxing. I'll figure out a way to work with it all.

The place I was in before here had a lot of non-humans. I'm still learning, but always happy to try a new skill if there's something else you've got a particular need for.

there's nothing i need, really. i was just curious. where i come from there's non-humans, but until extremely recently it wasn't really something you could let people see, so it's just kind of neat seeing that talked about so openly.

Would you be able to craft rifle bullets? I can pay in mushrooms or something else— like if you need to deliver anything, or need your property kempt. I'd also want to do ASL, I know the basics. I didn't think I'd run into anyone who knew it.

I had a friend help me with it in the last place I stayed in. We both couldn't speak for a while, so some people thought it was a good idea. Her name's Rapunzel. [ pause, ] There's a Rapunzel here too, but they're not the same person.

I also wasn't looking for a new start here full stop rationally I believe anyone in my prior position should leap at an opportunity like this and of course there are certain strategic reasons to withhold information on who and what I am but that feels like an unearned redemption.

You don't have to tell me anything about who you are. There were a few people who granted me that when I was new in a place like this. Seems like the least I can do.
Feather painting? It's something a mentor of mine did. I spent a lot of time watching him do everything. It might take some practice, but I'm not opposed if you aren't.

Practically I should be opposed because it is pointless with no one around to show off for and it may be somewhat dangerous for you. But I am never opposed to being practice for someone.

No but I'm several years out of practice at enjoying things. Easier to justify pragmatic choices.
The feathers in question come from a creature that causes madness if you can see them. They the feathers might have the same properties even when plucked and dead. I don't know for certain and understandably haven't tested it on anyone.
Better to bring you something from a mundane bird, I'm thinking.

In school I was training for rescue and combat in different terrains, but then I ended up here. I don't have a lot of experience. My internships were in cities.
