Good morning, Trench! [Michael seems pleased with himself today!] I'm here to announce the grand opening of a brand-new boutique - the ~Garb Place~!

[He claps his hands together and then spreads them, creating a little shower of golden magic sparkles. The camera swings around briefly, showing a panoramic view of a small shop interior, before returning to Michael.]

That's right! I've decided to use my incredible reality-bending abilities to make clothes! All custom orders, so literally whatever you want. Within reason, I guess, but I've still got enough power here to make that a pretty broad category. Ah, and I've also got some jewelry I made when I was bored, and some drinks and small cakes.

[The camera turns briefly - oh, it looks like there's just a little area in the boutique to Chill. Including, yes, small cakes.]

Those are...I don't know, those are free if you want to just hang out. I'm a little bored here, and I feel like having a shop does mean being in the shop for large portions of the day. That's a little weird...

Anyway - I feel like this city really needs a little brightening up. I understand if people want practical clothing, but it doesn't need to all be black. And hey, it's fun! Check this out!

[Time to view some ads! These are all just pictures of Usagi in flashy, fancy dresses. Very couture. It's not actually very much like a traditional fashion shoot - Michael really doesn't have or understand that whole male-gaze-y affair - but it does look like they had a ton of fun taking the photos! She's probably stage-fighting with swords or something in some of them. It was a whole thing.]

Now - for this month, I'm offering a special discount on full-coverage outfits. They're very in right now, apparently due to all of the potentially deadly mushroom spores floating through the air. I've even made a few hats!

[The camera turns about to show off a few fancy veiled hats, except that the veils are clearly designed to cover the entire face, and are rather more like sheer fabric than netting.]

Honestly, if you don't have anything good to wear, just let me know and we'll work something out. Sounds like it's getting more dangerous out there. Cover up, stay safe. And drop by if you want to look at clothes and eat little cakes!

...well, I will be keeping a lot of raw meat for Eleanor in the freezer. So please don't eat that.

[Look, there's definitely ways in which Michael is a bizarre person to live with, who probably has a lot of somewhat off-putting habits!]

Where...are you going to find so much raw meat?

The meat market. They do sell food here.

Y-yeah, but...what are you trading for all of that?

Oh! Mostly little things, you know - I'm at the point where I can make simple objects pretty well. Traded art a few times, too.

What, really? You're an artist?

Sure, I can draw. Paint, too. It helps with design work...that was always sort of my excuse.

Huh.

[you know, Manabu really wouldn't have pinned Michael for the sort.

...he can't say he knows what he'd pin Michael as besides, say...salaryman? but this is because Manabu is very unimaginative.]

That's awful handy. A-are you sure you wouldn't want me to, maybe...find supplies for that stuff? In exchange?

Oh! Sure, that would be helpful, if you don't mind. The Tower can usually help with things like that.

The Pthumerian. You know, the tall statue guy.

[there's a beat. the...wait, the spooky...alien-monster guys??

Michael what--] Wait, are you...you talk to them?

Yeah, sometimes. Why, haven't you?

O-of course not! I mean-- how would I have known that's even an option?!

Give it a shot sometime. They're around - not all of them, but some.

[siriusly]

I--but... [a few incredulous sounds.] How does that...even happen? They're not just. Walking around Willful Machine, you know!

[eudaimonikos]

The Tower does. They say he usually looks like a statue, though, so you do have to pay attention.

...Okay, so. So how did you figure this out in the first place?

[eudaimonikos]

Asked around. I'm sort of a big deal Architect back home, you know - [Totally not preening!] - so I was curious about the original one here.

[siriusly]

[well, la-di-da, Michael!!

exasperated:] Okay, well, it's not like I would think the same way, you know! Jeez...!

[a beat.]

...So you. Talked to this Tower-creature. And it didn't...immediately try to hurt you?

[eudaimonikos]

He's just a guy. I mean, I'm immortal too.

[He's not particularly impressed by the Pthumerians? At least, not just for being what they are?]

Anyway, I'm an Architect, he's the head of them or whatever.

[siriusly]

[beat.

wait. huh??

did he...mention that before? immortal? HUH???

this must be what having a stroke feels like.]

Since when have you been immortal?!
