[Maul looks very grim when he starts off the video.]

Since some of you might wonder where he is and since he had messages for me to pass along to some of you, I'm here today to tell you Wesker is dead. I killed him.

[He quickly goes on before any screeching or condemnation can start being thrown his way.]

It was not out of malice, amusement, or anger. It was an act of mercy. The zealots took him and by the time I found him he was little more than a corpse but somehow still breathing. There was no hope for his recovery.

[Maul's eyes shut for a moment, still seeing the eviscerated body lying on the table that looked more like an autopsy victim than someone still alive, lungs and heart able to be seen and still working despite all that had been done to Wesker's body by those seeking his blood.]

I'm not sure how he lasted even that long with what they did to him. I ended his suffering. Hopefully, he will be back in a short time.

You and me both. If they want monsters, what's the point of denying them? It's not like their minds will be changed no matter one's deeds.

I am glad someone here likes me as I am. Sometimes, I fear they do not want me to become a better version of myself, they only want me to become better as fits their own viewpoint, if that makes any sense at all.

[At least Reaper understood Maul well enough given how he'd experienced the Zabrak's lack of eloquence from the very start.]

Yes, they do seek for their lives to be orderly and without chaos in it despite living in a city that is filled with nothing but. At this point, I should just be considered part of the fabric of the place. They should just warn the newcomers about us. "This is Trench, a city filled with terror and horror beyond imagination, you have magical blood powers, avoid the two Sleepers named Reaper and Darth Maul like your life depends on it."

Such a warning I would be perfectly fine with. The more that know about not pissing us off, the better. It means you can cultivate your little army of zealots in the shadows.

There is nothing wrong. Beware that when you're swallowed by the desire to gather power, you can drag those you care about most into that darkness.

[He didn't think he actually had to remind Maul of that. The Zabrak was smart, but he knew that Maul had suffered losses in the past for gathering power too quickly.]

I consider our courtship completely normal for the kinds of people that we are. Though, I suppose I'll have to consider putting a ring on it before I die for good.

Well, it is a better word suited to what we meant to each other than 'boyfriend'. And 'lover' is a bit too personal. And 'husband' would indicate we're married and we've not quite made that commitment to one another yet.

[It's hard to convey over text but Maul puts no pressure into the question. It's just genuine curiosity. He never in a million years thought he would get married, given he was a Sith and all the complications with emotions that came with such a title, but he also never thought he'd be in a stable enough relationship to call someone his mate either. And yet here they were.]

Perhaps in future. Marriage usually comes after living together, but we aren't exactly a typical relationship.

[He won't say no to the possibility, but Reaper also wasn't about to jump into one either. He wasn't exactly the marrying sort, especially at his age.]
