[Maul looks very grim when he starts off the video.]
Since some of you might wonder where he is and since he had messages for me to pass along to some of you, I'm here today to tell you Wesker is dead. I killed him.
[He quickly goes on before any screeching or condemnation can start being thrown his way.]
It was not out of malice, amusement, or anger. It was an act of mercy. The zealots took him and by the time I found him he was little more than a corpse but somehow still breathing. There was no hope for his recovery.
[Maul's eyes shut for a moment, still seeing the eviscerated body lying on the table that looked more like an autopsy victim than someone still alive, lungs and heart able to be seen and still working despite all that had been done to Wesker's body by those seeking his blood.]
I'm not sure how he lasted even that long with what they did to him. I ended his suffering. Hopefully, he will be back in a short time.
[There is a private message afterwards which is only sent out to a handful of people. Vira-Lorr, Luz, Orpheus, and Ariadne.]

He asked me to pass on a message to you.

Private
[Maybe for the first time, Reaper went off to join Maul in that complex.]
I won't hesitate. For now, it seems calm. For how long, time will tell.

If it changes, you will be the first one to know. I'm not going to sit around and be used as anyone's punching bag.
no subject
No. A little spilled blood will shut them up for a time.
no subject
[At least Reaper understood Maul well enough given how he'd experienced the Zabrak's lack of eloquence from the very start.]
I am sure there will be cause for me to spill more soon enough.
no subject
Of that, I have no doubt.

Ah yes. My followers. I see they have started paying attention to you now that they realized what you and I mean to one another. Have they started asking you questions as well?

[He's only half-joking. The next time he meets with his cult, he'll have to tell them of the important people in his life and how they're to leave them alone unless he tells them otherwise.]

Also, the terms you're actually looking for are 'Silver fox' or 'Sugar daddy'.
no subject
Silver fox, hmmm? I suppose it's more complimentary than simply calling you an old man. Which you ARE.
[He just had to get in a little teasing about Reaper's age.]
no subject
I'm going to enjoy when you hit my age. All broken horns, scarred up body and wheelchair.
no subject
I have the best prosthetic legs in the galaxy. I'll never need a wheelchair. Besides, won't you be around the age of 90 by then? You might be chuckling from the grave at that point.

Does your species mate for life? I suppose if I'm dead, you'll have to grieve your loss.

[He felt a sense of power that hadn't been his since he was the ruler of Mandalore and everything had been going according to plan back then. (He'll just ignore how that power had blown up completely in his face. Clearly, it was going to be different this time!)]
Yes, mates are supposed to last for a lifetime, even if ours has been a most unusual courtship. Well, I'll just have to find even more black clothes to wear once my hearts are in the grave with you.
no subject
[He didn't think he actually had to remind Maul of that. The Zabrak was smart, but he knew that Maul had suffered losses in the past for gathering power too quickly.]
I consider our courtship completely normal for the kinds of people that we are. Though, I suppose I'll have to consider putting a ring on it before I die for good.

[His quest for power had cost him everything in the past before, yet this time he'd still convinced himself it would be different.]
Is that how the people of Earth signify a commitment between two people? An exchange of jewelry?

[It's hard to convey over text but Maul puts no pressure into the question. It's just genuine curiosity. He never in a million years thought he would get married, given he was a Sith and all the complications with emotions that came with such a title, but he also never thought he'd be in a stable enough relationship to call someone his mate either. And yet here they were.]
no subject
[He won't say no to the possibility, but Reaper also wasn't about to jump into one either. He wasn't exactly the marrying sort, especially at his age.]
