Hey guys!

Your resident aspiring witch here just saying that I'm glad to see a lot of you who came back, and a big hello to those who I'm just seeing now! My name's Luz Noceda, and for right now I'm living in a pretty nifty house with some of the best guys you'll ever meet!

I also know that we're all kind of living pretty far from each other and we're only just getting used to where we live, but now we all live in fairly different places. So I figure why don't we take this time to give a quick rundown of the type of place we're living in and what you can expect to see!

Our house is located in Cassandra, which seems to be a little rich in magic. The disciples here are really into their faiths, and I think that kinda lends to strange things walking around the street. Kinda helps to have your omen around, I've learned. My wolf Tempest keeps most mean looking monsters away, so I'm usually pretty safe, but they also sell lots of incense around here too. I think its to help keep the beasts I keep hearing about away, and to ward off corruption. I'd say if you're going to Cassandra with a mind to focus on magic, you've some to the right place. As Fern's observed though? Not the greatest place to grow things.

Oh, sorry. That's just a future way of saying that you're trying to get to the bottom of something you think is a lie. It's related to a story, but I think that saying applies here.

Of course you are, and I'm going to help you! You're not the only one dealing with sudden blood magic, and it'd be silly to try and deal with it alone!

Oh. What's the story? I'd love to read it- is it a book? Or...a movie? I really need to get better with my pop culture references. I fell behind after the movie theatre and the library got destroyed.

True. I have Mako helping me with the fire stuff, but you do understand how magic works. On a fundamental level. I...could probably use some help with that.

The Wizard of Oz. It's originally a book, but really entered the cultural zeitgeist as a movie.

Man, that's the worse. Really hope they have something like that here.

There's definitely a library, a really big one, it's in Gaze! [Of course, Varian found a library immediately, of course, he did. ]

Usually that's how it happens. It's a book that becomes successful, so people want to invest money so people will pay money to see it acted out!

Of course. If it would be weird for anyone, of course it'd be strange for you. You never needed magic when you take advantage of your brain more than most people!

It's odd, I guess. Plays back home are written specifically to be plays. But I have noticed the future is pretty focused on getting as much money with as little effort as possible.

Of course I have, c'mon. It's amazing! There's so many books! Like the Deerington one was, it just seems to go on forever And there's a museum there too!!

Thank you, that's exactly it. This is- well, it's just really hard. I'll figure it out it's just...growing pains.

Plays were like that a long time ago too, but that's plays. A movie is like that but with specialized effects so you feel completely submerged in the story! It makes the experience much more immersive, if you do it right!

Yes, that...unfortunately is also a route you can take, and some people like that too. It can be really frustrating for someone who wants their movie to have quality.

No way! A museum?! I have to check that out! This place feels so much BIGGER than Deerington, I feel like I can get lost in it, and there's all these mysteries! You have to tell me what you find in there if I don't get the chance, ok?

It'll take time! It was like I was telling you, science takes testing, and so does magic when you first start with it. Once you know how it works, you can test out ways to use it more creatively.

You can feel pretty submerged in a play too, you know. It just takes more convincing acting and a suspension of disbelief.

[It sounds like a pretty depressing way to lose out on good stories if you ask him!]

It does! It feels like a genuine city rather than a town. And of course, I'll tell you about anything interesting I find.

Hah, for now, I'll be happy to settle for not accidentally burning any of my housemates to death. Baby steps, Luz.

Oh well, yeah, of course you can! They tend to not be as popular or as accessible as viewable media though.

[Luz loved stories whether they were on screen, in a book or acted out. She was all about the story, man].

Yes, yes that would be good. I'm not sure how fast I hit myself with an ice glyph without either getting third degree burns or hypothermia from being cold too fast.

I guess. It's the other way around for me in my time. Uh...mostly because the only media we have are plays. Or books. That's it. Those are your options.

I think we'll be exploring it for a while. It definitely leaves Deerington in the dust for size.

Well that's in the past now. We can probably access media now, so we can see all kinds of stuff! Maybe we can even have a movie night here if you want! I don't mind cooking the popcorn and picking the selection!

[It is not hard at all to make popcorn Luz, unless you're doing it the old fashioned way. Which you probably are, what are microwaves in this world].

So glad I have Eda's staff, and that we can use the lamps. Makes things SO much easier.

Not at all. If we can altogether avoid death, that'd be even better!

Sure, sounds fun. I think the movie selection will have to be down to you. I don't think the rest of us are from times when we'd even know most of them.

[Luz has the best grip on pop culture in the entire house, to be certain. ]

It does! You know, I'm still thinking of another form of transport. Just in case those fail. I've wanted to see if I can build a car for a while...I think it's time I gave it a try.

[He'd like a project all of his own, instead of something to help everyone else.]

Really? None of you-no, wait, now that I think about it, you're totally right. I think even Luca's from an earlier time on Earth. They might even use old fashioned landline phones, however those work. I'll try to get some that interest all of us!

[Sounds like they'd be watching the Matrix soon enough].

That's a good idea, kinda? I mean, cars still need all the moving parts and gas, so I'm not sure if you'd be able to find all of those things. Still have to explore this place and see what raw materials they have that are plentiful, or at worse, find an alternative fuel source.

Can we even come back from death in this world?

He is! And also spent most of his life, y'know, in the ocean. You're way ahead of most of us. And I researched those phones, I can tell you how they work if you like.

I'd be able to make something to work with what we have available here. My Flynnolium is an excellent fuel source. I used it to make my automatons move. [You know. The ones he used to try and murder people with. Those automatons. ]

From what I remember, Ramona got HER end, so I wonder how that affects us.

[Ramona was a touchy subject, especially if Vira was around].

Well, you might be younger but you got to grow up with all this stuff around you. [Which he didn't- he's a little sad about that. Corona would have been much more entertaining if a good movie could have been shown. Though knowing Corona it would have probably been about kittens or something. ]

Plenty, the chemicals I used for it are still available. And it's...mostly stable at this point.

I don't know, I don't know what effect it'll have. For now, we should probably treat death as something permanent and avoid it more than usual.

That's true, though the drawback of that is coming into a world where stuff I'd have automatic access to is gone. But that's just adjustment stuff. Anyone can live anywhere as long as they're able to adapt. Don't worry, I'll try to pick good ones!
