Hey, this is Michael. Just curious - is this a thing that's happening now? Are we all doing this?

Don't get me wrong, it's not a huge deal. I honestly never liked all the weird dangly bits. Not sure about the hair... [He runs a hand through it, holding it briefly up against his head; does he want it short again, or is this good?] ...but I can cut that. Guess now I have to get used to everyone calling me "she", too...

[That one, he sounds mildly irritated by. It's not the word itself, necessarily, it just took him long enough to get used to answering to the first one. Why do humans have to change their language rules every two seconds? But, he's using their language and that's how it works. His usual body was the only reason he ended up being "he", so...well, he'll just have to manage.]

Except the locals, maybe. Why do they call everyone "they", anyway? What is that? [Seems rhetorical, though; he flaps his hands dismissively.] Well, anyway. If anyone else is suddenly changing size or shape, and your wardrobe isn't working anymore, let me know and I'll just run off some new clothes for you for free. Might as well make these things a little bit easier, right?

Magnet walks back in, little toenails clicking on the hardwood.]

...Hey. [Manabu looks down to the dog, whose ears perk.

pointing:] Is that. Really Michael?

[there's a beat of just staring before Magnet walks over, sniffing Michael's shoes. he looks up and wags his tail a little. that's a Michael!]

...That...really doesn't...[Manabu sighs, rubbing his face.]

I know it's different, but I have had multiple skinsuits in the time you've known me. They were just identical.

[Michael is, for a moment, visibly discomfited by the reminder. He doesn't actually have any memory of that incident, but he still doesn't love knowing that it happened. So he falls back on a slightly unfortunate tactic, and deflects:]

That-! I'm n--! [he sputters, flushing red as he recoils.] That's not what I mean and you know it! It's not like I'm completely crazy for assuming the worst here, am I?!

[Called on his bullshit, Michael huffs.]

I guess. But I'm just sitting on the couch, man. At least wait until I actually do something evil to freak out.

[sigh. another face rub.]

Right, sure. What did you wind up doing or eating that caused this?

I didn't do anything, I just woke up like this! And I don't normally sleep, either. [.....] Oh, did I pass out?

[holding his hands out.] I, I don't know! Just...some kind of idea of what to avoid? I don't wanna turn out like that, too!

Well, I didn't do anything to cause it. Maybe just try not to sleep for a little while?
