Hey, this is Michael. Just curious - is this a thing that's happening now? Are we all doing this?

Don't get me wrong, it's not a huge deal. I honestly never liked all the weird dangly bits. Not sure about the hair... [He runs a hand through it, holding it briefly up against his head; does he want it short again, or is this good?] ...but I can cut that. Guess now I have to get used to everyone calling me "she", too...

[That one, he sounds mildly irritated by. It's not the word itself, necessarily, it just took him long enough to get used to answering to the first one. Why do humans have to change their language rules every two seconds? But, he's using their language and that's how it works. His usual body was the only reason he ended up being "he", so...well, he'll just have to manage.]

Except the locals, maybe. Why do they call everyone "they", anyway? What is that? [Seems rhetorical, though; he flaps his hands dismissively.] Well, anyway. If anyone else is suddenly changing size or shape, and your wardrobe isn't working anymore, let me know and I'll just run off some new clothes for you for free. Might as well make these things a little bit easier, right?

mmm. I've sort of been getting used to the idea that everything is a little ... fluid about our existence. So I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop. I just wish it didn't involve this whole shedding thing. It's ... a bit revolting personally.

But I'll cope. And I'm sure you will too. You're nothing if not adaptable.

Yeah, yeah. I'll be alright. Human bodies shed particles all the time, they're always sort of like that.

Heh. You have such a colorful way of putting it. [She laughed.] You really never do fully get used to having to deal with a mortal body like ours, do you? You're always commenting on the curious things we take for granted.

[He hums thoughtfully.]

I'm a lot more used to it than I used to be. But yeah, I still notice stuff about it.

Given that your existence is probably very different from ours, there's bound to always be something new and strange. You know, that makes me a little curious.

What would you say was the most fun discovery you've ever made about a mortal body?

[with literally anybody else this would probably be something dirty, but it's Michael:]

I can whistle! Oh, and the entire digestive system is disgusting, of course, but some things do taste good!

[And that was so much more interesting because it wasn't like that. She laughed, just shaking her head.]

It is a little disgusting isn't it? but the flavors absolutely make up for it. I find I love very strong flavors of late. You?

Oooh, yeah. I like a lot of sweet things - [He holds up his colorful fruity drink.] - but savory's good too! Just not a big fan of the really strong alcohol taste.

Mmmm, you haven't had the good alcohols then. [She sighed wistfully, shaking her head.] But that's not a bad thing to not want quite so much of. Sweets are all too nice, and you can combine them well with the salty to accent them.

Try chocolate with sea salt sometime. It's amazing.

Probably not. It's the Bad Place, not the "Everyone's Got Great Taste and Throws Classy Parties" Place.

[And while he's been in the Good Place for quite a while now, he's been awfully busy. Drinking has not been a priority. Although, on that count:]

Though, I'll tell you what - Heaven does have great weed.

You know what? For some reason, that makes me feel really good right now, even if we were talking about the Bad Place.

[She's going to assume that was some concept of Hell. Her own afterlife was kind of a mess. Killing your gods on the astral plain would do that. You know, deicide probably meant she'd go to her bad place wouldn't it?

Whatever. Worth it.]

I know one person who would love that news if she were here.

Yeah? I haven't had any since that first day - I was really stressed out. Just been too busy since then.

Well, admittedly she isn't with us this time around. [Her smile had a sad twinge to it.] But the news would still be welcome to her. Or at least, I think Chloe'd laugh.

Oh, Chloe.

[Michael's lips quirk in a bit of a sad smile, too. But it's been a long, long time for him.]

Yeah, she would. We actually smoked some weed together one time.

I never truly had her tolerance. Couldn't keep up with that girl.

[She smiled fondly. For her, it was more of a recent thing, but even still the time was beginning to slowly pass them by.]

She would definitely love knowing that. Might even try to 'fly right' for a bit, just to get the good stuff.

You wouldn'tve seen me keeping her out.

[But it's another world, and chances are that whatever might await Chloe on the other side, there's no other Michael.]

Back in the afterlife, I can just decide...not to be intoxicated anymore, if I don't want to be. So it did take me a while to figure out what my tolerance actually was.

Wait. You can actually decide?!? Oh, that's just... you realize I am seriously jealous of you, right? I know I don't drink anymore, but oh there were so many days when picking would have been great, haha.

You definitely have a few tricks up your sleeve there, Michael.

Ah, well, it doesn't work now. Would've been useful if it did!

[It's fine, though. He thinks he's mostly learned his limits on these things?]

I lost a lot of my more minor abilities like that. It's gotta be a blood thing, everything's tied to the blood here.

Always useful if you can control that sort of thing. But now you get to experience being drunk without warning. What joy! [That's definitely sarcasm]

Ugh. I really miss not having any kind of blood. At least Darkblood isn't really a thing until it's out, but - conceptually, it's gross.

[He always had liquids in there, but we don't gotta talk about that.]

Darkblood does seem to be 'good' if someone is just uncomfortable with the idea of being a ... well, trapped in a normal body like that. Robots have said the same in the past.

Oh, yeah? You know a robot Darkblood?

Actually, I'll admit that I am thinking of Ratchet right now, but I don't think he's here so I don't know that I actually know one.

I just imagine he'd be a Darkblood.

Ah. Don't think I ever met him.

[There must be a lot of people like that; Vira-Lorr was in Deerington for years before Michael, and there always was turnover.]

It would be good, though. I don't like the idea of blood inside me, but I don't know that it would actually screw anything up. Seems like it'd be bad for a robot.

He was memorable in a very large, gruff and metallic way.

[She sighed. In truth, she had gotten on terribly with him. But she had a bad habit of running into him at the worst times.]

Considering some of what we know, I suspect somehow it would not be a problem, but it is probably best not to assume that it will go well if one had, say, warmblood for some reason.
