[opening up, amara is beaming at the camera. she's clearly in an alleyway of the willful machine, if the light and bustle a little ways off from her is any indication. she has a huge bag of popcorn in one hand, the other holding the omni-- her signature tattoos glow across her arms and neck, though right now they're a bright orange instead of the usual blue.]

Yoooo! This market has orange popcorn! You have no idea how long it's been since I've had some! [a truly unfortunate and very strange looking dog briefly pops into frame as it makes a lunge for the popcorn with a long, prehensile tongue. amara doesn't seem too bothered by it, responding by lifting the bag up and chiding it;] Not for you, Skag. This is people food.

[moving on...]

I'm Amara! I am known as the Tiger of Partali, the wisest cowboy to ever walk the land and possible brain surgeon! That last one involves a lot more metaphysical punching than you would expect. Anyway! That giant snake is an equally giant pain in the ass, so I'm gonna tear its head off and give it to the Hunters in lieu of a resumé. Anyone down to join? It'll be a fun evening out!

[he sounds youngish, which is nice. amara always loves to see up and coming warriors! maybe she'll get to learn something from him, too.]

Uchiha Sasuke. [ He could switch to video, that would be so much easier, but he also really....really hates using video, so. ] I'm 19, I fight with a chokutō, and I'm lacking a left arm. I have yet to see anyone else who fits those parameters, so it should be easy to spot.

[phaseflex]

Cho-- haaah. That's a kind of sword, right? [she knows enough sword freaks to know a few names. thanks, zer0 and zane.] 19, huh? I started training and fighting when I was young, too. Where are you? I'll come to you. I need to learn these streets, anyway.

We don't consider nineteen young in my world. Shinobi begin their training at the academy at twelve on average.

I believe that's one of the ages training halls on Partali will take in children, yes. It's all relative, anyway. One of my best friends is over one hundred and they can beat anyone's ass, despite only developing a thirst for battle a couple years ago.

[god bless you, FL4K. she falls silent for a moment, briefly remembering the loneliness that came with not having her vault family in deerington. perhaps it'll be the same here. that's unfortunate; she misses them already.]

she says nothing else, seeing no point in continuing that conversation as she's on her way to see him in person. it does take amara a little while to get there, as she'd said, but she manages to find her way there.

calling out when she approaches:] Yo, Sasuke? It's Amara! I'm here to beat some ass with you! That sounded better in my head!

[ Beat... some ass... God, why does everyone in this place talk almost exactly like Naruto and Killer B, why is this a thing????

He gets up from a bench he'd laid out on, tilting his head as he looks at her. ]

I really don't know how it could have.

Mysteries of the universe. [she smiles, holding a hand out to greet him. it's immediately clear where her own powers lie-- those bright glowing orange patterns that cover her body are hard to miss.] Pleasure to meet you, man. Can I see your sword?

[retsuden]

Mm.

[ He goes to pull it from the lengthy sheath under his cloak, holding it up for her. It's clearly just a standard sword with the Uchiha crest embedded in the hilt, but he loves this thing, okay, be gentle, Amara. ]

[phaseflex]

[amara gives it an appraising look over, which quite deceptively hides the fact she knows absolutely nothing about swords other than sometimes they're different lengths and good ones are sharp.

she nods the nod of someone with all the unearned confidence who has decided in this moment they are a master swordsmith.]

Looks like it stabs good. I fucking love it.

[retsuden]

[ The response almost makes Sasuke look... amused?? What???? But he clears his throat to hide it and places the sword back in its sheath. ]

Mm. It's tied to my chakra, so it's stronger than an average blade. No matter how strong this creature is, we shouldn't have to worry about it breaking.

[ He looks at her curiously, and realizes it's probably important to know her fighting style. Oops. ]

Do you use weapons? Or just... punching?

Brilliant! I could have another sword funeral, but I barely know you, so I have to be honest. My heart would not be in it.

[and-- always keen to show off, amara summons her six spectral fists behind her, punching her hand into her palm.]

I am gifted with the abilities of a Siren, and use them to punch very hard. I do also use guns! When I have them. Right now, all I have are these guns!

[she flexes, all eight arms. it's embarrassing.]

[ Sasuke doesn't know what a sword funeral is but he thinks he can put two and two together and he's definitely sure it's not something he'd ever feel the need to do. Swords break.

Besides, the whole additional six arms thing is way more interesting, and he can't help but look a wee bit impressed here. Right up until that joke. He doesn't even know that he gets the joke and he still can't stop himself from rolling his eyes. Luckily he's seen enough people punch shit to death enough times to know that fists should never be underestimated.

Especially not fucking eight of them. ]

Hn. Then I suppose we should start looking for this creature.

Indeed. [the arms fade into nothing as amara dismisses them, not needing to use her power. she could show off further, but she's a little more focused on finding the unsnakely to do battle! how exciting! she just got here and already she gets to fight with a magic ninja!] From what I gather, it shouldn't be too hard to find.

[retsuden]

[ It doesn't take too many steps to see the hints of the frozen trails from the unsnakely, and he motions to them with a small jerk of his head. ] It does seem to like to make itself obvious.

It's a metaphor, probably. Most things are.

[she stops, crouching to see the frozen trails, her tattoos shifting to orange. you beat cold with fire, obviously. she barely has to think about the matchups to immediately know which one to use.]

What sort of things have you fought in the past? [she asks, interested.]

[retsuden]

Mostly other ninja, but I've also gone up against jinchuuriki and the Tailed Beasts that they house, as well as a woman my world considered a god. [ She was technically just a really powerful alien, but that's kind of semantics, right? Right. ]

[phaseflex]

Snap! I fought a god too. Or at least... someone on their way to being one. Bitch had it coming. [she tilts her head, happy to keep chatting as they track the thing. it's not like the paths are hard to follow, and amara doubts that them speaking will scare it away. hell, even better if it draws the thing to them.] Jinchuuriki? Tailed Beasts is self-explanatory, but...

[retsuden]

They usually do. [ In every world ever. He does not accept critique on this view.

He wrinkles his forehead because somehow explaining a jinchuuriki out loud sounds ridiculous. ] They're people who have the Tailed Beasts sealed inside of them. They can usually call on their power in battle and amplify their own techniques with it.

[amara does not disagree.]

Ah! I understand now. They sound like they would be a fun fight.

It certainly keeps things interesting.

[ Naruto is still his favorite sparring partner for a reason. He goes to pull out his sword when the snake paths seem like they're a little more mushy than icy. Freshly melted snow means they're getting closer, right? ]

[she doesn't reply-- freshly melted snow and faint vibrations in the ground. amara stops, looking around and frowning.]

It seems to be... this way, [she points to the right, though doesn't start moving.] what do you think?

[ He lets himself feel the way the earth gently rumbles for a second before nodding. ​]

I've heard it's difficult to sneak up on the thing. Did you have a plan or was your intention to wing it?
