[opening up, amara is beaming at the camera. she's clearly in an alleyway of the willful machine, if the light and bustle a little ways off from her is any indication. she has a huge bag of popcorn in one hand, the other holding the omni-- her signature tattoos glow across her arms and neck, though right now they're a bright orange instead of the usual blue.]

Yoooo! This market has orange popcorn! You have no idea how long it's been since I've had some! [a truly unfortunate and very strange looking dog briefly pops into frame as it makes a lunge for the popcorn with a long, prehensile tongue. amara doesn't seem too bothered by it, responding by lifting the bag up and chiding it;] Not for you, Skag. This is people food.

[moving on...]

I'm Amara! I am known as the Tiger of Partali, the wisest cowboy to ever walk the land and possible brain surgeon! That last one involves a lot more metaphysical punching than you would expect. Anyway! That giant snake is an equally giant pain in the ass, so I'm gonna tear its head off and give it to the Hunters in lieu of a resumé. Anyone down to join? It'll be a fun evening out!

Oh. Uh. Okay.

[He switches over to video, and there aren't any flowers in his hair aside from a couple stray, sad-looking cherry blossoms.]

Don't have much going on right now. I think I spent all my energy regrowing.

[phaseflex]

Mmm, did something happen? [she tilts her head.] I've certainly seen you looking worse. You're getting stronger.

[laminae]

[Man, he wishes he could accept that compliment.] I'm not, it's just that dying around here isn't as bad as it was in Deerington. No flu and no amnesia.

[phaseflex]

Well! That's something. [she doesn't sound any less delighted to be speaking to him, even now knowing he died.] Where are you at, jaan? I want to see you in person!

[laminae]

At the house. It showed up here, too. It's in Cassandra. [Insert directions here!!]

[phaseflex]

I'll be there.

[it takes her a good few hours to find the address - happy to put off fighting the unsnakely to see her friends.]

Feeeeern! [knock knock knock knock] Am I at the right place this time? I'm so tired of knocking on the wrong door! I'm gonna start climbing in windows!

[laminae]

[When she knocks Fern will poke his head out of one of the second story windows, giving her a wave.]

Hold your horses!

[He pops back inside and heads downstairs, opening the front door. He's looking a heck of a lot more tired in person, though he thankfully isn't suffering from any death flus.

He's also going to go ahead and latch onto Amara in a hug.]

[phaseflex]

[as expected, honestly. even amara found herself exhausted by the emotional toll that dying took on her, never mind all the physical stuff. she doesn't even know the surface of what the poor grass boi has been through recently.

amara hugs him back, tight and unwilling to let go for a long few moments.

she needs this, too.]

[laminae]

[Good!! Because he doesn't want to let go of her. He lost her once, and he doesn't want it to happen again. There's a wavering in his voice, though he isn't full-on crying.]

I really, really missed you.

[phaseflex]

I'm sorry I left you for so long. [she keeps hold of him, holding him tight, almost like she's afraid he'll fall to grass in her arms.] I love you. I don't think I ever said that in the nightmare.

[laminae]

Not sure. [He might be sniffling, more of a psychological habit than anything else.] But I love you, too.

[phaseflex]

It's been a shitstorm. [she lets go of him, finally, looking at him with intensity.] Are you going to invite me inside? I'd like to know of your adventures here so far.

[laminae]

Oh - oh yeah! [He finally steps back, sheepish, and turns to head in.]

C'mon, it's the same house that we had in Deerington, but we got some more roommates.

[phaseflex]

Oh? I hope they're ready to be scrutinized! [she says, making a weird gesture with her hand under her chin, like she's doing a cool pose.] I will only allow the best boys near my boys!

[laminae]

They're mostly girls, actually. And Luca.

[Girls and Luca, yep. He laughs a little.]

Anyway, they're all cool. Luz'll love you.

[phaseflex]

You two smelly idiots need some women to keep you in line, [she says, with all the fondness in the world.] Luz-- I think I've met her before. She was in Deerington, yes?

[laminae]

Luz and Ahiru do a good job of it.

[He nods.]

Yeah! She's got short hair, speaks Spanish?

[phaseflex]

Ahiru?

[gosh, she has a lot of people to pledge assistance too. hopefully they saw this video.]

Hmmm. Doesn't ring a bell. I will remember when I see her, or not.

[laminae]

She's got super long hair and blue eyes. She isn't much of a fighter so it's gotta be rough for her being here, but she's super nice. I think you'll like her, too.

[phaseflex]

That's okay. She has her knight Fern, doesn't she?

[amara knows she'll like her if fern likes her.]

She totally does! I'm not gonna let anything bad happen to her or anyone else at the house if I can help it.

[phaseflex]

Do you want to resume our, quote-unquote training? Which is basically just us working out how to murder things with our power combinations?

[laminae]

Yes! A thousand times yes! There's tons of monsters here, loads of 'em out in Ache where all the farms are! It's super fun clearing them out so they don't eat all the crops!

[phaseflex]

Oh? Is this an engagement for tomorrow? I will be happy to do that with you, Fern. [she grins, putting an arm around him again.] They must love you up there, especially with your flowers.

[laminae]

Definitely! [He grins up at her happily.] Yeah, they do. I can get what plants feel now, too, sort of? So I help them out with their crops and translate their feelings.
