video UN: vault thief
[opening up, amara is beaming at the camera. she's clearly in an alleyway of the willful machine, if the light and bustle a little ways off from her is any indication. she has a huge bag of popcorn in one hand, the other holding the omni-- her signature tattoos glow across her arms and neck, though right now they're a bright orange instead of the usual blue.]
Yoooo! This market has orange popcorn! You have no idea how long it's been since I've had some! [a truly unfortunate and very strange looking dog briefly pops into frame as it makes a lunge for the popcorn with a long, prehensile tongue. amara doesn't seem too bothered by it, responding by lifting the bag up and chiding it;] Not for you, Skag. This is people food.
[moving on...]
I'm Amara! I am known as the Tiger of Partali, the wisest cowboy to ever walk the land and possible brain surgeon! That last one involves a lot more metaphysical punching than you would expect. Anyway! That giant snake is an equally giant pain in the ass, so I'm gonna tear its head off and give it to the Hunters in lieu of a resumé. Anyone down to join? It'll be a fun evening out!

[He's missed her so goddamn much, and good lord.]
Wow, a lot. Like... a lot a lot. We should probably talk in person, where are you?

[Which makes travel so much easier. Speaking of, as promised, it doesn't take him long to get to her at all, appearing in the lamp by the canal and pretty much running off into the market. Sorry, Amara, he's just going to be hugging you immediately on sight, tightly.]
There you are. I've missed you so much!
no subject
[that's fine, though, she'll just keep a benign stream of chatting to him while he comes over here, commenting on things she sees, the popcorn, whatever her skag is doing.
then she's being hugged when he finally gets to her - it didn't take long, but it felt like a long time - and amara hugs him back, all of her ethereal arms sprouting out of her back to really make it a proper bear hug.]
I didn't know I was missing you, but I was. I love you, Varian, so much. I'm glad you're here.
no subject
[An Amara hug really is the best kind of hug. The secret is all the extra arms!!! He's just gonna...cling for a few moments, don't mind him. ]
I love you too. [He's not getting teary, nope!! (He is, he absolutely is). ] I'm glad you're here too. It- it wasn't the same without you.

you bet your little butt she isn't letting go just yet.] Really? Is there no-one else loud and punchy with space powers? It's a niche I'm proud to fill.
no subject
[He still doesn't understand how. He laughs softly, definitely not letting go, nope. ]
It's totally your niche. No one else could ever edge you out of it! You're one of a kind.

I learned to stop asking about these things in Deerington. [she snorts.] I think loud and punchy is a common one. Siren isn't. Fern is loud and punchy.
no subject
Pretty much! It's the same mentality as Deerington honestly, just...more. There's a bunch of Pthumerians here now. [He laughs.] Okay, yeah Fern is pretty loud and punchy. He's gonna be so glad to see you again.
no subject
[she frowns, trying to remember the pthumerian experiences she had in deerington. it seems so long ago and vague now, though.]
no subject
[He shifts, frowning softly.]
He got into a fight with one...I was sick and he thought it would...help. It didn't, he got killed.
no subject
I am sorry. Do make sure you see me about this when I'm settled, yes? I understand in that situation you have to focus on the person who was harmed, not your own feelings.
no subject
I will, I um- kind of corrupted and turned into a monster. Because that's a thing that can happen here. [He chuckles tiredly.] Sooooo we really gotta look after our emotional health here because if we don't it's...bad.
no subject
[she has to be realistic.]

[she tilts her head, though.]
Less? This is a bigger place, is it not?
no subject
[He hums softly.]
Oh yeah, it's bigger, but there's more happening to us. Like- like the whole corruption thing and having powers now and how that affects you changes every month. It's a lot less... well, predictable isn't the right word. Deerington was never predictable. Less stability, I guess? You never know if this month is one that'll make your particular blood type go crazy or not.
no subject
[she tilts her head at variant, frowning.]
Might I come in for some tea?
no subject
Sure you can, come on in. You're always welcome in here- we've got a lot to catch up on.
no subject
[she pats his back, slipping past him to go into the hall before she realises she doesn't remember her way around the place. just gonna... open a random door and hope its the kitchen.]
no subject
You did what? Seriously? Okay, yes, yes I need to know every tiny detail about this, please.
