Hello, fellow Sleepers - [Ezra waves. Like a dork.]

Two things -

First. I wanted to raise meditation as another thing to add to the list of things that might be useful in combating the emotional, spiritual, and mental side of corruption. If that's not something you're familiar with, there are definitely some teachers at the School of Mutter that offer instruction and probably some Disciples with their own spiritual bend to it.

But if you prefer to stick with the Sleeper crowd, I'd be happy to do an introductory thing. As a group, or one on one, whatever works best. Let me know, and we'll work out when and where. Or hit me up with questions.

Second. I can't offer where I live as the place to do it. At least, not yet. Given the nature of this place, I'm thinking I could use a roommate. Or a few. Is there anyone who needs or wants one?

Uh...not sure what to say about me here, to get the ball rolling. So I'll leave it at that for now.

No, not usually. There may be a few former druids among our ranks, but we prize secrecy. [He gestured at the mask.] Many of us don't know each other's true identities.

Oh. I get operational security in general, but -

Can I ask why, specifically?

What we are doing is extremely dangerous. We're going against an empire that has been in place and expanding through cruelty for over ten thousand years. The secrecy is not just for our own safety and to be able to continue in future undercover missions, but also for our families. If our identities are discovered, then the Empire would have no hesitation to kill those we care for as a form of revenge for our actions.

In some cases, it is even to keep our identities secret from our families. Some of our members are working against their own siblings and parents who may have prominent places in the Empire, or who may believe that the Empire is right in what it's doing.

....most of that sounds disturbingly familiar. The major difference being the Empire in my home galaxy is only 18 years old. And I'm lucky in that both my birth and chosen family worked to undermine in.

[Keith listened, nodding slightly to himself.]

I am in the group because of my mother. My father knew of it, as she was a member when they met. He helped her when she had been stranded on his planet. But, he stayed behind when she had to leave with me. That planet didn't know of our war or the empire. It was safer for him to stay. As for me, I looked more like my mother, and it would have raised too many questions. She had to bring me with her despite the fact that she didn't want me involved so young. It was difficult until I was able to defend myself on my own. We spent a lot of time in hiding.

[He listens, quietly.]

I'm sorry. That sounds like a really hard way to grow up.

The Empire arrested my parents for speaking against brutal policies, when I was seven. I never saw them alive again. [Visions through the Force, yes. In the flesh, no.]

Before then, they'd taught me to hide from stormtroopers. And I kept doing that, and looked after myself. Until my new family found me. Good thing they did - aside from having family being good in general – because my if the Empire had known I'm Force sensitive, they would have tried to brainwash me into serving the Emperor. Or killed me.

Mm. It was certainly not easy. But, if anything, it did teach me survival and discretion, something I've needed often back home.

[That said, he did frown a bit as he listened to Ezra's tale.]

They were gathering the power for themselves, then. And, if unsuccessful, destroying it.

Oh, totally. I don't think the Emperor believes in any sort of limits to his power.

[tempredmental]

Unfortunately, most emperors of that ilk do not.

[The voice sighed softly, a disappointed sound.]

Hopefully, our respective people will find the way to stop them soon.
