[Vira-Lorr was seated in her shop, reclining in her chair and looking at the table, her omni set up on the other side. She had a frown on her face, her eyes narrowed. The third eye glittered a little, seeming to almost glow softly in the low light of the room. The candles that were set out flickered and gave the fortune teller's chamber a soft, almost eerie glow.

On the table in front of her were a set of three tarot cards. She steepled her fingers, looking them over before sighing and turning her gaze to the feed, shrugging.]

Well, I never said my visions were always pleasant. Just a thought for my fellow sleepers, as you get ready for the next month. The locals call February a bitter month, and the story of Doorway is not exactly a happy one, trapped and forever waiting for someone who may never return.

Next month, you may be plagued by the possibilities, the imaginings and wishes that you might have in your hearts. Unsure, you might just find yourself at a crossroads, an important decision to be made. And if you choose one way, you may find yourself... what is the saying? "Crying over spilled milk" while you do not see the cups there, full on the shelf and waiting. But a choice always has at least two possible outcomes, yes?

[She reached over and drew another card. She smirked softly.]

Perhaps you might find what it is you want. The season of the Egg Moon is supposed to be a time of Rites, after all. Follow your hearts and choose wisely.

[And with that vague smirk, she flicked the camera feed off.]

Mm. A reasonable reaction. It's unfortunate how prone you are to dying.

I am not actually as prone as some people think I am to dying. Something you should be aware of is that sometimes, your powers, skills and abilities will be stolen away at a key moment and the matter forced.

My visions are different. I've seen thousands of deaths, far more than ever happen here.

[ He arches a brow, somewhat out of curiosity, but he's sure that it's about as straight forward as it gets. Dying is usually about a lack of luck, that's something he's always understood, but it's more fun to see her irritated than admit to that. ]

[She gave him a sickly sweet smile when he said that, folding her arms and raising her eyebrow.]

When I find out who your lover is, I'm going to give her a palm reading and tell her so much about her love line.

[ ............................................................... He probably deserved that, and yet he still has the audacity to look pissy about it. ]

I don't have a lover. If you're referring to my friend, you'll leave her love line alone. She wouldn't want it read.

Ngh. [She almost argued, to be churlish.] Fine. But, just so you know?

A lady doesn't like people repeatedly asking her about that time her head didn't attach to its shoulders. It's actually, surprisingly, a very unpleasant memory.

[retsuden]

I never mentioned your head. Or did all of your deaths involve decapitation?

[ Maybe he shouldn't continue to be an ass about that considering the circumstances. ]

But fine. My apologies. Next time, if you've a problem with what I'm saying, you take it up with me directly. Retaliating with anything related to the people I care about is off limits.

[onerthes]

That... should honestly have been more obvious. Sorry. You just... keep touching that nerve. And it's not that it happened more than once. It's just... I was like that almost a year. It was hard to forget. Convenient example.

That said... let's return to a more pressing topic. [for once she felt safe bluntly changing the topic.] something to be very careful of is any promises you make next month. You don't seem the sort to take it lightly, but ...

You should find a way to come to peace with it. Anyone who asks around enough could learn of your circumstances and if you're so easily disturbed by it, it will be more than efficient in manipulating you. Whether it's by this place or the people in it. Your head is firmly attached to your shoulders now. That's what matters.

[ There's some hypocrisy there, but at least he's tried to apply that to most of his old traumas. ]

Easier said than done, but I will take that under consideration.

[She was aware that she was sensitive about it, but he wasn't the only one who could be stubborn about things.]

I'm not necessarily surprised to hear that. You strike me as a very serious sort, so I'd expect as much. Never hurts to know clearly.

[ He's quiet for a second and debates just leaving it all at that, but he also knows at the back of his mind, there's more he can offer here. Ugh. Why is he trying to be a better person again? ]

If you ever need assistance, my friend... She's... Studied how to help people who have been through traumatic events. She's better skilled at helping people overcome them than I would ever be.

[ God this means disclosing who she is though has he thought this through ]

... She's a counselor?!?

[There's a serious pause there for a moment. Vira-Lorr looked legitimately a little shocked. Her eyes were wide and she coughed into her hand after a moment before she laughed once, softly.]

I... we have not had one of those since the nightmare ended, and we only had one for a very short time. A student counselor who was immediately inundated.

On the one hand, I want to ask her name. On the other, I don't want to push the task on her. She might get a little... well...

There's a lot of trauma in this place. I don't want her overwhelmed.

[retsuden]

If that's what you want to call it. She's a medical ninja, but she specialized in these sorts of things after the war, or so I've heard. She runs our village medical facility. I don't foresee her becoming overwhelmed so easily, she's no student.

[ Seriously, just look at the challenges in Konoha. He has faith. ]

Haruno Sakura. She'll likely make herself known eventually anyway, there's no point in hiding it.

Oh, wait. We met already. The nice girl with the pink hair. I met her at the party actually.

I will probably speak with her about this at some point. These aren't new wounds to me. It will take time to deal with this. But we have time, presumably. I did not know the two of you knew each other.

I am not exactly a good person to come to for relationship advice. I'll be honest and say I have worse fortune in that until recently than I do with other things. But, if you have questions like you did once, you can ask.

Mm. [ He has a lot of questions. Too many, probably, though he doesn't know how to even ask them, and he isn't sure that she would even actually have any answers. ] I'm—

I'm fine. But thank you. Your advice from before is enough to figure out how to be friends again.

[onerthes]

That, at least, is a start. Sometimes these things are in small steps. But, I think we might have talked long enough, unless there is something more you wished to ask right now.

[ He shakes his head. ]

Good luck with your warning. In my experience, people rarely actually listen to anyone trying to help them.
