[Jacob Stone comes from a world of both smartphones and magic (and sometimes those smartphones had magic in them), so he isn't entirely unfamiliar with this. The Omni is a little awkward at first to deal with, but he's managing.

What he isn't managing, is the rattlesnake that seems intent on curling around his shoulders in a cozy fashion.]

Hi. My name is Jacob Stone, I just got here, so there's a lotta new things I ain't quite got the hang of yet.

Uh.

So.

So can y'all tell me if there's an incantation or something to get rid of--of whatever this little critter is?

[The snake looks just as grumpy as he does, for a moment, and hisses at him. He looks mildly offended at the gesture, or maybe the snake might have said something rude.]

I'm not--I don't use magic, I mean, but this thing just sort of appeared outta nowhere and now it won't go. I didn't mean to summon it! But I guess I did and now I don't know how t'make it go away.

[He's just...a little stressed. Being a Librarian whose job it is to find magical artifacts and hide them from the world and as a rule doesn't use magic because he's terrified of it is now in a world absolutely steeped in it, and he just accidentally summoned a smoky creature right out of his chest.

It's fine. He's fine?]

[Aww... she thinks she really likes Daisy.]

Its fine! I think she's cute.

[Which is to say something of the nature of Jacob's soul and magic, in a way.]

Well, thanks, I guess. At least Daisy seems happy about it.

[He seems to miss the point entirely about what Daisy represents, at least right now. Too concerned about his involvement with magic, he doesn't realize the good things that Daisy shows, too. She curls up on his shoulder again, nestling contentedly. Maybe he doesn't get it yet, but she does.]

And rattlesnakes can hold their own against bigger things, too. I guess a snake isn't that much trouble... [A grumble mumble.]

[That does raise an interesting point.]

Do you think she will need food?

...I dunno. From what I'm seein' from other people here is that it's more magical than not, but I wonder...

...but if so, I'm not gettin' food for you, Daisy, you'll have to hunt for stuff yourself!

[Daisy taps him with her rattle again, almost rolling her eyes. Please, you doubt her skills?]

[The more important question is whether or not Jacob would let her feed Daisy. Well. If she could find a mouse or a rat that wasn't really paying attention...]

[She chuckles at the comment.] Jacob won't suffer slackers in his house!

[Daisy looks amused, but also pretty smug. If she needed to get food, she can manage herself quite fine, thank you. She taps her rattle against Jake's head as if to say she's got this, worry about yourself.

Jake, however, laughs at both of them, shaking his head. He scoops Daisy up from his shoulder, studying the snake in his hands.]

I guess it doesn't have to be all bad. It's just a little--okay, more than a little weird.

So, perfect for here, right? [Said the girl with three eyes, a lamprey mouth, and two tentacle limbs.]
