[The feed turns on to show...a wolf. At first the wolf's yellow eyes take up the screen, and then its nose as it loudly sniffs at the camera until a young girl's voice with a strong Irish brogue addresses it offscreen.]

What are you doin' over there? I need help with this part!

[The wolf turns around to join whatever's going on, revealing that this is in Mebh's room at the Waystation. And it's an absolute mess; Mebh is currently in the process of painting various things on the walls with paint that she probably stole got from somewhere in town. She's painted it with numerous kinds of shapes and symbols; spirals, circles, arrows, simple depictions of wolves and people. What seem to be most common, though, are wolf pawprints overlapping with human handprints. The wolf Mebh called over dips one of its paws in a jar of paint, and Mebh guides the wolf's paw to the middle of a painting of a large circle of wolves, where the pawprints overlap with her own handprints that she added earlier.]

There! Sin é, that's it. It's startin' to look more like the den now.

[Seemingly satisfied, Mebh goes to another part of the wall where she's in the process of painting something else; it's meant to look like this, though Mebh's artistic ability doesn't quite match her vision so it looks a good deal cruder.

Will Mebh get in trouble with the Dog Keeper for painting on the walls of her room without asking? Probably. But at least she's preoccupying herself instead of dwelling on what she's lost. If she's going to stay in a room instead of the woods, she can at least make it look more like home.]

[Oh hey, it's Ange! And she looks significantly older than she did last month.]

Well, I have to if I'm gonna make this room less boring. Me and Mammy painted all over the walls of our den back home.

[ Yes, yes, she does.. Let's never discuss the child stuff ever again..

Or at the very least, Ange seems to be aggressively ignoring it in favour of just paying attention to Mebh and her room decorating skills here. ]

Makes sense. You'd want to make your room look more like your den.

[ 'Your den' not exactly being words Ange uses a lot, but whatever, she can adjust. She's good at saying weird things in the calmest possible way. ]

Are you still planning on doing more than just the drawing?

I dunno. It could use more grass and rocks and stuff, but I can't find much of that in winter.

[And even if it wasn't winter, it's hard to find anything that seems to grow naturally in this place.]

Wish it wasn't so square. It feels like a box. [Or a cage, which she'd rather not be put in again.]

Well, knocking down walls of rooms you're using is generally considered bad form. [ She says it with a dry kind of edge to it, like it's a little deadpan..

But, you know, it's also a tip she figures the other might be able to use, since Mebh doesn't exactly seem like the sort of girl who is 100% familiar with the customs of the civilized world. ]

Not to mention you'll let the rain in.

[ Not great. ]

I guess if you gather enough rocks, you could always shape the room a little differently from the inside by piling those up. You could totally make it look like a cave with enough effort.

Well, I'm not gonna do that. We can't get rained on all the time.

[Mebh can tolerate being rained on, especially when she's a wolf, but there's only so much rain one can stand.]

Guess I can go look for some rocks to bring in here, then. Maybe some big ones for me wolves to hide behind.

[How she'll get rocks that big into the room is anyone's guess, though.]

[ You know, that last part?

It's exactly what Ange is thinking about. And the last thing she wants to happen is for Mebh to get stubborn about it that she tries to get the rocks over there even if it breaks her back.. ]

Well, if you need some help moving them over..

[ At first she just lets the sentence trail off, never wanting to seem too eager about offering help, but then Ange finally does continue. Just in case it's not clear. ]

I could probably levitate them. [ Probably. She's not 100% sure, since she never tried to levitate anything too big yet, but it's worth a try. Especially if it might make a kid a little bit more comfortable. ]

What's a...lev-itate?

[Levitation would come in pretty hand for what Mebh wants to accomplish, though she honestly has no idea what the word even means. She's still coming around to the fact that a lot of other people here have different powers from her own that can be useful in a variety of situations.]

[ Ah. Right. Mebh might never have had to deal with that sort of thing before, huh. Ange hasn't seen many people use that kind of power here either, so it makes sense. ]

It means making things float.

[ .. hopefully she'll understand that? Surely she's seen things float on the wind. ]

Then you don't have to carry them, so weight doesn't really matter anymore.

You can make rocks float?

[That's definitely something Mebh can understand.]

That's dead useful! Can you make bigger things float, too?

[entreats]

It depends.

[ Ange has been practicing, so it's already getting a little bit easier to make things float other than just super small things, but.. ]

It might get hard if something is too big. Or I'd have to start using my blood a lot. [ And that comes with its entirely own risks. ] But as long as some rock isn't too huge, I could probably move it.

Great! Then you can help me lift some stuff in here. I bet I could still do some liftin' too, though.

[Though as strong as Mebh is for her size, she may need some help with things that would definitely be too big or heavy for her.]

[ Yeah, Ange is.. kind of wondering over here just how much Mebh could lift. She's not exactly a normal little girl, so there's the chance that she's stronger than she looks, but..

Well. On the other hand, Mebh is tiny. ]

Sure, we can make it a team effort. [ Especially since it means Ange will be right there to make sure that Mebh doesn't do anything stupid that would hurt her. ] Just don't carry too much, or your entire body will ache in the morning.
