Hi. I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Haruno Sakura and I've recently become a temporary resident of this place. It's come to my attention that I have some skills which might be put to good use here. First of all, I'm a medical ninja back home and I have an extensive knowledge of medicine, poison control, and emergency medical treatment. I think medicine works a little differently here than it does back home, but I'm happy to assist wherever I can.

The other thing I've noticed about this place and I know I'm calling attention to the obvious, is that it seems to enjoy dragging up and forcing it's residents to face their traumas. Either that or it's creating new traumatic experiences for people. I'm entirely too familiar with what happens when repeated traumatic events are dragged up over and over again for an individual. It breaks a person down mentally and physically and that manifests in some unique ways here.

People so often misunderstand trauma and they place blame on the sufferer, despite that it is born out of a need to protect oneself against very real threats to one's wellbeing. Back home I've been developing a model and treatment program that hopes to intervene before the behaviors of trauma become so self destructive that they harm the individual suffering from them, or those the individual may otherwise care about.

While I am sure that everyone here has developed coping skills of some sort, and that there are avenues that one might use to calm down or decompress, it never hurts to have more outlets and resources when dealing with mental health and trauma. So I'm hoping to utilize my knowledge and skills from back home to create a program that would offer further assistance in maintaining a healthy mental balance and perhaps even treat more severe trauma.

If there is an interest, not only would I like to create a safe space for people who suffering with mental health, but I'd also like to create a team of people who would be interested in learning how to professionally help others. While a base understanding of mental health is helpful, I've developed my program from the ground up and trained countless individuals in how to use it to benefit patients. So I can happily host workshops and seminars.

I just think that if we stand mentally at our strongest, then we'll be so much better prepared for the challenges that we consistently face. Treating trauma patients is a passion of mine and if I can help ease the burdens of anyone here while I am stuck in this limbo, I welcome the opportunity.

[He's dealing with visible corruption (ashy skin, doubled fangs, an eyepatch over his left eye), and said corruption prevents him from having the presence of mind to not be on video right now. It has also messed with his memory and he recognizes her, but can't quite recall how he knows her. But everything she's saying is… relevant to him, and to many people he knows.]

You're in the right place to chase your passions, I guess. [His voice is dull, but not completely lifeless.] Lots of trauma here to go around.

[He glances down, off camera, contemplative, though his expression is detached and a little glassy, there is the sense that he's trying to figure out how to mold thoughts to words. Some of the things she said hit him in a very deeply personal way, but he lacks the capacity to talk about it right now. His mouth twists as he gives up on it and settles on something easier:] …You've got your work cut out for you, huh.

[ There's the sound of the ocean in the background since Sasuke's absolutely hiding out in some cliffs for the moment, but he hasn't stopped himself from looking through the network regularly. Which means he can't actually miss this.

For the first time in a while, his tone sounds almost lightly amused. ]

Hn. Needed to get back to work that quickly, did you?

[ It's an example of exactly why she wants to find a way to prevent things from getting to that level and she truly believes that it's possible. ]

Without a doubt. But I'm no coward to hard work. If anything it keeps my own head solidly on. Also, that's why I hope to train other interested individuals.

[ She recalls meeting him at the party, though they didn't get to talk for long. ] Looks like it's been a harder month for you.

I think you might be onto something - if the rising corruption in Sleepers is any indication... we really could use a place to help with what the time here throws at us.

[But he's fine. Totally fine.]

[ Voice. Oh good, that means he's hiding things. ]

What can I say, it keeps me sane.

[ She pauses, considering and chewing her lip for a moment, before she just spits it out. ]

Come home.

[A pause as he takes in what she's said and that the last sentence means she can see him. Ah… well, just going to amend… that. He flips it to voice.]

Uh, didn't mean to hurt your eyes like that. Sorry. [A JOKE, AN ATTEMPT AT A JOKE, HOW REMARKABLE.] I dunno how good I'd be at helping other people the way you do… but it's not a bad idea.

[ At least with a good purpose this time. He sighs at that response. ]

... My sharingan won't deactivate. It's dangerous for me to be anywhere I can look people in the eye until I can figure it out.

[ She has so little to compare it to, but it does seem to be having a great impact on everyone. ]

I know I'm at a disadvantage without my resources from home, but I think there must be some way to help offset or treat these issues. Hopefully before they become bigger issues.

I've never been trained in this stuff or anything but I'm a good helper and if we can be honest (you're supposed to be honest with healers where I come from) I have some friends who aren't doing too hot. The thing is I feel kinda powerless to help them without knowing what I'm doing..

Do you accept part time? I'm a Nightwalker so this is kind of my job but I also direct theater and want to be able to still do that.

I'd of course, accept any sort of assistance. Everyone has things they are passionate about and enjoy doing so I don't want to take away from that. Especially when I haven't been able to fully figure out the financial side of things.

I've heard some good things about Nightwalkers, but perhaps you could educate me as to what you do. That would help me to know how best to utilize your skills, and what you might already know.

[ She thinks about that for a moment, and she can't keep the concern out of her voice, though she tries to be upbeat. ]

[ Oh wait, that sounds kind of...bad when she puts it that way. He mind instantly goes to other places. ]

[ He thought the offer was almost sweet and he's just a little confused when she starts to ramble like she sometimes does. Particularly when she's said something—

[ That kind of humor reminds her a little bit of Naruto, as he tries to make light of a serious situation. ]

Oh please, you're hardly difficult to look at. It looks to me though, like you might need a little additional help yourself. If you want to help others I can certainly teach you my therapeutic model, but I think it might be better to help you first. You're dealing with some of the impact yourself already aren't you?

[ She wants to point out that all of this is directly related to how much she wants to help him. He and Naruto are both inspiration for why she feels it's so important to not let others get swept away in their trauma. ]

[ She's certainly been under enough of them. ]

[ That was... snappier than he meant for it to be and he has to take a deep breath. She's the last person he wants to be pushing away right now. Hasn't he done that to her enough?

He lets out the breath in another sigh and there's a small thud when he lets his head rest against the rock wall behind him. ]

[ She nods, forgetting for a moment that he can't see her, which is probably good because her heart hurts at the words.

She has to remind herself that this is just the corruption speaking, taking advantage of his already weakened state. It fuels her determination at the very least. ]

And it won't this time either, so just...deal with it. I'll bring a blindfold, and guide you home. We'll figure it out from there.

Money isn't important, I have plenty of rocks already. Skills for helping my friends is payment enough.

So, Nightwalkers come in all shapes and sizes but our job is to help people with emotional support. Sometimes that's the sexy stuff (not me) but MOSTLY it's companionship or entertainment or just listening to someone when they need a sympathetic ear. We're pretty level people so don't really get corrupted or beasthood and because we all work in Cellar Door that makes it the safest part of the city.

Oh - man, yeah, we really need a therapist around here.

My name is Obi-Wan Kenobi. I'm trained in these issues and would be honoured to offer my services.

Oh! That sounds a lot like a strong peer support network. I could easily teach some of the basics about trauma therapy to help boost the skills you are already using in your emotional support. I could also help teach warning signs and things to look out for, as well as crisis intervention. A group like that would be amazing as a first line of defense against trauma attacks.
