What's to say that some entity you "contain" doesn't just kill itself reincarnate and get its abilities back?

could happen. but again, it's all individual based, isn't it? some people's powers might not carry over with reincarnation. if they do, then you'd have to make sure to be in the right place at the right time

a lot of the natives seem to be mortal. and reincarnation doesn't always mean perfect reincarnation. what if someone completely forgets who they are when they die?
