Hey, all - I see there's some new faces. I'm Shiro, longtime resident here.

[He's seated on a sofa - well, seated is probably the wrong word. He's propped up by a lot of soft things, thanks to being a Warmblood this month.]

If you have any questions, I'm happy to answer - usually I'm on the Waker team, but ah, didn't get a chance this time around.

[Because of feeling like speaking, like moving, is too much effort.]

Anyway, I had a question. I'm pretty good in a fight, usually prefer hand-to-hand. [He is. Hilarious.] Weapons are a little more rusty, and this thing...

[He turns the omni to face a sword propped against the couch.] ... showed up at our house yesterday. And I could use a few pointers in swinging it.

[Is it Lance? It... kind of looks like what Sasuke talked about...]

[A pause as he just stares… and then he shakes his head and snorts. The feeling of reassurance comes through and the word 'vacation']

So you're okay.

... Is this Lance?

[May as well just straight up ask.]

[azurestar]

[A nod, yes he is okay… as far as he knows as a simple deer. Then a head tilt and another nod. The thought 'sharpshooter' comes through the link.]

[There's one mystery solved. And - it's kind of a relief.]

Okay. That's good - we were worried.

[He's still worried, honestly.]

Where are you? Do you know?

[Again, the word 'vacation' comes through. This is his panic, last ditch effort to just get a fucking break. As a deer, he doesn't know how to articulate that complex concept and emotions in any other way. Then he nods and the word 'forest' comes through. That is where he is currently, but half the time he goes to the beach.]

So you're safe. You're in the woods, and you're safe?

[Please just confirm it so Shiro can breathe. He'd have charged off into the woods the moment he heard if... moving hadn't suddenly been such an ordeal.]

[He got as far as where Lance had been staying, just in case.]

[For a moment he just stares, and blinks. Then he snorts and seems to nod his nose in the direction of the 'camera', which is his omen. Who then takes the cue to turn its gaze over to the trees where Shiro will see Edelya's massive form lurking in the distance like a huge guard wolf who can crush three skulls in one bite.

Yes, he is pretty damn safe. With that on top of how Trenchies see deer as sacred beings, he's got a lot of creatures and beings willing to protect him if he needs it.]

Okay.

[He relaxes. Slowly. And drops his head into his hands. His shoulders hate him for it, but there's nothing else to do with the relief. Okay - Lance is safe. Surrounded by woods and protection. On a "vacation". That's - well.]

[He can't ask for more than that, can he?]

That's - that's good. I'm glad to hear it. We were worried.

[Concern and regret comes through the psychic link to the Omni, then the word 'sorry'.]

[Did you really expect anything else, Deer Lance?]

I heard something set you off. And if you're safe, then - okay. I'll come find you and check on you later.

[He looks shifty and reluctant when what set him off is brought up. He knows Shiro is not asking, but thinking about it even a little makes him itch to bolt off somewhere. Then he snorts when Shiro talks about coming to check on him. The petulant words that come through should be familiar: 'I'm fine']

For me. I'd feel better if I saw you in person. You know how I am about worrying over you guys.

[He tilts his head, thinking and then starts to send the thought: 'I come th-'

Then there's a monster roar in the distance that startles him and he bolts on instinct even if it sounds very far off. His omen cuts the feed and follows.]

Lance -!!

[Nope, that's it. He's going to drag himself out to the woods so help him space lion jeezus.]
