Hey, all - I see there's some new faces. I'm Shiro, longtime resident here.

[He's seated on a sofa - well, seated is probably the wrong word. He's propped up by a lot of soft things, thanks to being a Warmblood this month.]

If you have any questions, I'm happy to answer - usually I'm on the Waker team, but ah, didn't get a chance this time around.

[Because of feeling like speaking, like moving, is too much effort.]

Anyway, I had a question. I'm pretty good in a fight, usually prefer hand-to-hand. [He is. Hilarious.] Weapons are a little more rusty, and this thing...

[He turns the omni to face a sword propped against the couch.] ... showed up at our house yesterday. And I could use a few pointers in swinging it.

[Hi Shiro, by now you probably have been informed that Lance is a deer and has gone off to wander the wilderness. He has rediscovered the network with his omen and is using it in a limited capacity because he is slightly more deer than Lance.

He'll just stare at you and then a psychic burst of feeling will come through the Omni link to your brain, it feels like confusion and the words 'bitch slap' come through as well.]

[He grimaces, and turns the camera toward the sword again. Easier than picking it up right now.]

[And keeps the confusion on his face from showing too clearly.]

[To be honest, Ryan almost scrolled by this message. It doesn't click that it's Shiro until he sees the username, but he just figures he wasn't paying enough attention.]

[There's a jerky camera movement, and Ryan pans to an identical sword propped up in the corner of his room. Yes, he's replying to Shiro from one room away.]

Min got one too - I think they're gifts from Doorway? I...don't know what they think I'm going to do with a sword, but it's the thought that counts.

[He assumes??? He absolutely does not want Doorway to smite him, any gift is lovely ty Doorway.]

Yeah. Me too... can you or Min even use a sword either?

[Granted, Shiro is pretty sure he could, given the chance. But he'd rather not fall back on those locked up parts of himself, if the need arose.]

I have a spell for identifying unique magical items. I haven't tested it yet here, I might need to modify it to account for Trench's unique magic system but I can give it a try if you'd like.

How long have you been here?

I wouldn't say no. As long as it doesn't have any adverse effects on you. [He shakes his head slightly, before elaborating:] Sometimes abilities, magic, gets warped here. It has a negative affect when it's used.

Since summer. And before this, Deerington, the dream world, for more than three years.

Have you tried lifting it and moving it around aggressively? That often works for swinging things.

As someone who got one, too - it definitely doesn't feel like a normal sword.

I'm sure it does...something. But I don't want to just go swing it at things, especially living things.

Have you used it yet? In practice, I mean.

[Since he can understand not wanting to just swing it around wildly at random living targets. Especially when you don't know what it does.]

I get that. Part of why I want to practice with a regular blade before using anything like this.

Something showed up at my house today, but it was something else entirely.

[His turn to frown. Mostly in concern.]

Thank you, I do have a question. Is it true that blood spilled in killing without just cause is very dangerous?

[Oh - well then. He makes a game attempt to sit up straighter. It's more difficult than it should be, for some reason.]

Somewhat. Blood is ... it's powerful here. Almost everyone's blood is capable of performing some kind of ability - coldbloods can summon and control elements like fire, or ice, for example.

But spilling blood in general seems like it makes it harder to keep yourself sane, here. It's like it releases some kind of toxin, or pollution into the air. The more spilled, the higher the pollution.

[It may not be the best time for him to offer; he's distracted and stressed and more aggressive than usual from the first tendrils of corruption growing in his heart, but it's perhaps these very things that leads him to it. He's itching for excuses to fight--even just spars.]
