[ Alright, this is Kaneki's very first post ever. He never even used social media before, so this is all very awkward ]

Hello, I'm Kaneki Ken. I just came from the ocean- [ he used to be a squid, he supposes. Still is? He may be a big hung up on the whole thing because Kaneki is so tired of being transformed into things he never asked for ] Which means I'm new here.

I'm a warmblood. I was told that's rare, although I'm not entirely sure if it matters that much. [ "rare" does not mean "special". ] But if there are ways to help with this blood, I would like to. [ because oh boy, he will be doing some really gross things in order to survive and he wishes to make up for it, in a way ]

Anyway, back home I was training - a bit of self-defense. I was wondering it anyone would be willing to train with me a little and teach me what I'm missing. Specially since magic exists here. [ a pause. he really did say that with his own mouth, didn't? ]

Oh- and I'm wondering. Is coffee a thing here?

Nice to meet you Kaneki, I'm Tooru Oikawa. I just arrived too, and I'm a warmblood as well. I don't know what it really does myself, or what all these different blood types mean.

But I do know some self-defense things, so I can help you out there maybe. Not sure how much, but I know enough to get by.

[Being a professional athlete who is on an Olympic medaling team, and before that having a fanclub in high school? Yeah self-defense is important.]

Hm, from what I understood, each blood type provides different powers. [ yeah. yet again he is saying these things with his own mouth. Powers. Magic. What even ]

Are you some sort of fighter, Oikawa-san?

[He'd assumed Japanese by the boy's name, but living overseas for the past almost ten years one could never be too sure. The honourific confirms that thought at least.]

Huh, I see. Guess I'll have to see what warmblood can do then.

[Magic is just fantasy where he's from but hey at least he's been told already about magic. Still weird that it's all real.]

Not a fighter, but I've needed to learn to defend myself against fans who get weird or try to attack me or my team. I'm an athlete, professionally.

[ can it even do anything? Kaneki was allowed to keep his ghoul nature, but he doesn't see that being related to warmblood and it's more about the fact he is a ghoul. Or so he thinks, at least. ]

Athlete? [ you mean: the complete opposite of what Kaneki is? ] Oh, what kind? [ it's a bit intimidating, Kaneki can't even run properly (actually, he can. He just doesn't do it) ]

[Is there a hint of pride in that answer? Absolutely, he's worked too hard to not be proud of it. But it's given him a reason to need self-defense skills.]

Tokyo? I've got a few friends living there. I'm from Miyagi, around Sendai. Haven't lived there in almost a decade, though.

It's a huge city, a bit rough at times. [ specially because there are so many ghouls living there ] I have never been outside Tokyo, though. I regret it now... [ since Japan is gone ]

I'd definitely recommend visiting the other prefectures if you get the chance to go back home, they're worth it.

[Guess it's a good thing that there's only regular humans where Tooru's from and has been living up until now.]

Ah... I don't think there will be a chance to visit Japan anymore. [ can they even leave this place if they have technically reincarnated/revived? Doesn't that mean their world is somewhat gone, then?

Honestly Kaneki doesn't want to think too much about it, so he adds: ] Not right now, anyway.
