[ Alright, this is Kaneki's very first post ever. He never even used social media before, so this is all very awkward ]
Hello, I'm Kaneki Ken. I just came from the ocean- [ he used to be a squid, he supposes. Still is? He may be a big hung up on the whole thing because Kaneki is so tired of being transformed into things he never asked for ] Which means I'm new here.
I'm a warmblood. I was told that's rare, although I'm not entirely sure if it matters that much. [ "rare" does not mean "special". ] But if there are ways to help with this blood, I would like to. [ because oh boy, he will be doing some really gross things in order to survive and he wishes to make up for it, in a way ]
Anyway, back home I was training - a bit of self-defense. I was wondering it anyone would be willing to train with me a little and teach me what I'm missing. Specially since magic exists here. [ a pause. he really did say that with his own mouth, didn't? ]
Oh- and I'm wondering. Is coffee a thing here?
Anyway, thank you for your time.

Nice to meet you Kaneki, I'm Tooru Oikawa. I just arrived too, and I'm a warmblood as well. I don't know what it really does myself, or what all these different blood types mean.
But I do know some self-defense things, so I can help you out there maybe. Not sure how much, but I know enough to get by.
[Being a professional athlete who is on an Olympic medaling team, and before that having a fanclub in high school? Yeah self-defense is important.]
no subject
Hm, from what I understood, each blood type provides different powers. [ yeah. yet again he is saying these things with his own mouth. Powers. Magic. What even ]
Are you some sort of fighter, Oikawa-san?
no subject
Huh, I see. Guess I'll have to see what warmblood can do then.
[Magic is just fantasy where he's from but hey at least he's been told already about magic. Still weird that it's all real.]
Not a fighter, but I've needed to learn to defend myself against fans who get weird or try to attack me or my team. I'm an athlete, professionally.
You're Japanese, too?
no subject
Athlete? [ you mean: the complete opposite of what Kaneki is? ] Oh, what kind? [ it's a bit intimidating, Kaneki can't even run properly (actually, he can. He just doesn't do it) ]
I am. I cam from Tokyo, Japan.
no subject
[Is there a hint of pride in that answer? Absolutely, he's worked too hard to not be proud of it. But it's given him a reason to need self-defense skills.]
Tokyo? I've got a few friends living there. I'm from Miyagi, around Sendai. Haven't lived there in almost a decade, though.

And coffee is a thing. A guy was passin' out bags to taste-test a while ago. It's pretty weak shit but it ain't bad.
no subject
[ but the information about the coffee makes him a bit happier ] o-oh, where can I find it? I'd like to try.
no subject
An old man named Stanford. I'm tellin' ya, though, it's weak. It took me five cups before I even felt anything.
no subject
HM- I'm fine if it's not strong, as long it tastes good. [ and like actual coffee, otherwise he might puke )= ] Thank you, I will try to find them.

I can't say whether it was magical defense, though.
no subject
Though, I don't have any magic and my blood type doesn't give me anything like that, either.
no subject
It's very valuable, apparently.

Blood... jewelry?
[ a pause ] Though i'm not interested in getting blood powers or anything like that.

[ Not that Chizuru hasn't been trying to find out as much as she can about this place in the month she's been here already - but there's just so much information to process that it's still very much dizzying to her.
She's pretty sure there's much she doesn't know yet. ]
But from what I heard from others, it sounds like most people who show up here get some sort of special power, but warmbloods are the only ones that don't. [ She sounds like she's trying to deliver this news very gently.
Mostly because she doesn't want to make him feel bad this soon after showing up here. ]
no subject
I'm okay with that. [ he honestly is, Kaneki already has so much to deal with that he would rather not add "creepy blood magic" to the bag ]
I just would like to know how to help. If there is any way for me to do that at all.
no subject
So rather than focusing on that, she focuses on the other part of what he brings up. ]
Oh, there's a lot you can do! As you can see, this place is.. um, well, it's pretty odd.. [ Look at how gently she puts it, like she doesn't even want to insult this weird place. ] So whenever new people show up, they can always use help from other people to just make settling in easier for them. And it seems like there's a lot of people who get hurt in this place too, so that's something people can always help with as well..
no subject
He isn't going to say that when she seems to just want to help, so instead Kaneki smiles softly and nods afterwards ] I will check those options out. Thank you. [ although probably not ] There has to be something I can do, after all.
I'm Kaneki, by the way. It's nice to meet you.

Suddenly everything makes more sense now.
(Yes, Dirk searched through the net for this dude. What of it.)

I don't think me being new has anything to do with it...

So, you're just telling me you're naturally that much of a sap?

Welcome to Trench, Kaneki-kun. Is it okay to address you like that? I hope it's not assuming too much, given how your name sounds and how young you look.
As for your questions, there's nothing wrong with being a warmblood, think of it like staying more as yourself despite the change in our bodies and blood. Warmblood supposedly helps with beasthood too, so you could offer if people are in need of a transfusion.
As for coffee, it's very rare, but I've heard that someone here has been experimenting with growing their own. It apparently comes with random side effects though, would that still be okay with you?
no subject
I have heard of blood transfusions, I was a bit worried it'd make this place worse. But if my blood can help, then I don't mind donating it.
And what side effects?
no subject
It's nice to meet you too, Kaneki-kun. I'm Ciel. (●'◡'●)╯
As for that, blood pollution is a concern unique to Trench, but warmblood hardly contributes to it, so it's another advantage to the type unique to them. You could check in with the Blood Ministers in Lumenwood for more details. Supposedly using virgin blood for your first willing transfusion is extra powerful too, so that's something else to keep in mind.
For the coffee, let's see... Here you go! I'm more of a tea person myself, but I do remember seeing coffee being talked about over the Omni network last month. That's all I know unfortunately, I didn't answer the offer myself.
no subject
Except for that kaomoji, that means they are probably around his age? Maybe! ]
It's nice to meet you, Ciel-san ( ̄▽ ̄)/
I will try to talk to them about it. Thank you. Although it's a bit strange to call it "virgin blood". Powerful how, though? [ kind of embarrassing too ]
And thank you for the link. I'm a bit worried about the effects mentioned, but if other people are drinking it, it might be okay. Does tea have effects as well?
